Ikagura surprised me with being 17 meg too. I was sure that something was going to be missing, but no. A lot of unzipped DC games are about 350 megs, with a dummy file taking up empty space. No fmv, tight programming, highly compressable data.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for this thread im now happily playing dreamcast games on my pc. practicing the rom infinite.
I also managed to get games working with the NTSC bios. i read in the forums that you needed the PAL (blue swirl) but i’d say not.
Im using radion 9200, amd 2600, 512 ram. And getting good framerates. Between 50 ~ 60 for MVC2.
Roll on version 1 with netplay, lol at trying to parry on kaillera. Regardless good shit.
Third strike works, but unfortunately too slow to be playable. I got didn’t even finish the game i got a bit bored.
Was trying to practice red parrying since the game is running slow. But even still blue parries are somewhat random because of the speed changing constantly.
I’m impressed the Emulator works so well considering, the compatibility list is impressive already. I’m going to have to give these guys some $$$.
I remember ewashock saying something like mvc2 keeps crashing at a certain point? is this still true for you, i completed mvc2 without incident yesterday.
As for the speed issues, i don’t think video card is too important, im only running a low end radeon. things to try include toggling the capcom hack and using - / + to change the speed of the processors. I think there is a utility called speedpig which might help you.
turn off antialiasing in your vid card settings if its on, when my antialiasing is on, chankast lags for me… but when its off, speed increases drastically
There hasn’t been any talk about Chankast in months, I just asked someone this last night. GosBroDansFan brought up th “Too good to be true and now it’s gone.” point.
