Someone finally put ECC4 up on Zach D.
This was MVC1’s first major tourney that Cali came down for. There a whole lotta MVC1 high level play there.
Good stuff Prozac, Here I thought this thread was dead. Heres to activity for about two weeks! Also, props to dead shot for the shadow lady strats. Wish I could add more but striderine has been thouroghly fleshed out.
Yeah, that was me. I got that footage from Todd second-hand but I was there both at ECC4 and ECC 2000. Good job getting second to Eddie Lee, btw.
The kids here might crap all over it since there were no keyboards or macros back then for some easy bullshit, but IIRC at least some of matches really showed some of the thought process of OG Marvel, with a semblance of proper foot games, spacing, and general strategy. Really cool to look back on it now.

Thanks so much for putting these up. I thought they were gone forever, it was crazy seeing that for the first time yesterday.
I forgot how intense that tourney really was, Valle and Eddie and Wigfall were beasts among others.
To this day, I am still so impressed by the intesity in those matches and just how fun ECC really was.
This is a video Ive waited 10 years for! Thanks for making it a reality.
Oh and thanks for the props vs Eddie Lee, its amazing how quickly he adapted and came back to win it.

By all means, do whatever. They aren’t really my videos anyways, I had Preppy upload them just because I didn’t want to see them lost forever. I think it’s great that we have them out there and available like this in any fashion. :tup:
You guys should come on ggpo sometime. It would be interesting to see some offline players play. See if their styles differentiate at all from online players. Not everyone uses macros.

I finally got this game in the mail from Amazon a few days ago. Taken some time to get used to (maybe its because I’ve been playing MvC2 for awhile) but some things seem really limited - character selection, no super cancel kinda limits some things, three button dash means I gotta use sticks, hell kinda lazy the characters only have two color swaps each…
But yeah, beefs aside I’m sticking with Chun Li and Morrigan as my main team. Cool that Chun can actually combo into kick super in this game with a HP. Morrigan seems even more limited in this than in MvC2…least ground series into shadow blade does around 50% on normal defense character. I still don’t see why the hell Capcom made her fierce/hard normals unsafe and punishable on block (wtf?). Kinda limits an already limited character. Definitely gonna have to get used to using my sticks again for this game because unlike MvC2 two-button dash doesn’t work.

Just had a few matches on GGPO. I never expected that this game would be so much fun in multiplayer mode.
