Marvel Super Heroes thread

I gotcha by 10 years, youngin’. You could call me an OG, so to speak. Google me. I’ve been around. I’m starting to wonder if that’s a good thing, though.

Anyway, I’d say I have a fair to good knowledge of most of the characters in the game, but I prefer Cap, Magneto, Psylocke, and Shuma-Gorath. I will bring out Spidey and Wolvie when I need to, and I will bring out Hulk and Juggy to mess around with. I’m fairly basic with Iron Man (whoa…big surprise there) and Blackheart.

And at home on my PS1, my Thanos reigns!!! (Like that dude wouldn’t be all you’d see at a tourney if Anita didn’t exist.) If he didn’t do so much damage, I’d really get to see what he can do with that ground zigzag magic series and juggling after Soul Gem SCs.

thats whats up og
but dont sleep on me…for 2 years of gameplay, i got dudes afraid to play me.
(still laughing at the guy from ggpo who quits the room everytime i join…lol)
i aint the best though…i just learned from them.
nyc, ctf dont play…

probably repulsor sj XX AD down-forward lk jump up lk up+fp then inf.

omni and spiderdan
did you watch the reference vids?
does that prove my point enough?
its all in the timing guys.

?!

Wait…you’re talking about OTG’ing someone with that after a Repulsor Blast? That’s defintely not what I saw. That’s definitely a good combo you posted, though.

Oh well…if it’s meant to be figured out, it will be.

wolverine-master, if I didn’t know better (and I don’t), I’d say your videos are done on the one of the home ports of MSH, which have completely different rules than the arcade.

its ps1…
and i can guarantee that it works in the arcade also
do i need to make a vid of that as well?
some characters get out of the web faster because of their weight.
for ex. hulk.
but i aint arguing with you dude.
you know what you know…but you can learn something sometime my dude.

Maybe they do work in the arcade. I mean, I’m sure that there are combos that work on the Gameboy version of Street Fighter II that also work on the arcade version… but I probably wouldn’t use the Gameboy version when making a video.

The console versions of MSH are among the worst ports that Capcom has ever produced (certainly in the 32-bit+ era). Details are in the first two pages of this thread.

Here’s hoping for an unlockable arcade or Dreamcast port of MSH when Capcom redoes MvC2 for 360 and PS3! :looney:

Hey…it could happen!

Just had a thought about that Iron Man Repulsor Blast thing…

Anybody tried playing around with that move with a Power Gem activated? I’m sure you all have noticed that the Power Gem can cause some…well…powerful results.

Just a thought.

ayo spiderdan
first things first…if you didnt like the vid, then you shoulda said so.
secondly, i dont know you dude, but you seem like the kinda guy that doesnt like to get proven wrong.
and last…why hate?..huh?
this thread has been going strong for a long time…
but since that shiki guy mentioned your name, you came out of nowhere playing hardball.
you said that the spidey infinite cannot be done 100%.
i proved you wrong…
i can do it on arcade, ps1, ggpo, 2df…point is, it can be done.
its messed up you gotta act like that man.
you’re gonna get old, and ppl are going to get better.

take fresh oj for instance…
he admitted to being an og…but look, he just learned some new shit with ironman.
rest easy brother, you’re NOT better than everybody.

WM, I think you’re getting a little touchy…and I can say that because I know Spider-Dan and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him in real-life.

All he’s really saying is that if you want people to believe that infinite is possible, record yourself doing it on the arcade version. Remove any variables and any chance of the engine allowing you to do something that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. Keep in mind that you’re doing an infinite that involves a Web Ball…something James Chen tried a long time ago when this game first came out. SD and I (and a whole lot of combo-enthusiasts) respect his ability tremendously so it’s not likely that you’re going to find something he didn’t.

With that in mind, if you’re able to reproduce this in the arcade, I’m sure SD, myself, and a whole lot of people will give you your props. If you try and fail, it won’t be a big deal unless you make it one. It’s not about hating on you. We just want the most accurate results possible. Feel me?

i feel you dog…
but you this line right here: it’s not likely that you’re going to find something he didn’t.
that line is a problem.
you’re trying to tell me, because spiderdan is spiderdan, and because yall been around longer, there’s no possible way i can find new shit?

wow man…its worse than i thought.
iight my brother…preach on.
teach the newbies and such.
if you wanna look back, it was me who brought life back to this thread.
it was dead for three months.
now about me touchy, get to know a nigga first.

and about the infinite problem…
i’m done proving things to ppl.
i’m gonna slave myself to get this combo right, have someone record it, and post it here so you can say good job, you were right?
and give me props?
sorry to say, that is not why i am posting.
i love msh, and out of all the fighters that i play, i chose this to be my favorite.

i am not the greatest, and i’m not the worst.
someone helped me get started on this game, and right now, i have the best spiderman and wolverine in my hood.
i dont brag, i dont gloat.
and guys that do, make me sick.
its just video games
aint no award for being a spiderdan anywhere.

yall take this too serious man…
and you calling me touchy?
i want the peaceful thread back.
you, me and spiderdan are regular people…aint no honor in picking for a legend if he’s wrong.

I never said “don’t try”. I said, “It’s not likely you’ll do it.” There’s a difference. If you feel strongly enough about it, then do it. I know people thought running a 4-minute mile was impossible before it was done, so when you can do something in the face of staggering odds, it makes that accomplishment all the more worthwhile.

So, try…or you’ll never know what truly is possible. Like I said before, if you can do that web ball infinite on an arcade version, I’m very sure a lot of people will want to know about it. If not, it won’t be a big deal unless you make it one.

Capish?

Now…get out there and prove us wrong.

Please quote where I said this.

The only thing that I said was that that infinite frequently uncombos, which tends to make me think that you don’t know what the word “uncombo” means in the context of Marvel. But that’s fine.

When I say that it “frequently uncombos,” what I mean is that even if you are holding back, the combometer (and damage scaling) resets… but you still can’t block. This is the phenomenon that the word “uncombo” was coined to describe. You can see it at 0:20 of .

Given that, I have very little interest in any potential video that “proves” that it can be done 100%, because I already know that it can be done start-to-finish even when the combometer says that it’s blockable.

I suggest you start worrying less about what other people are saying about me (something that I have no control over) and actually read this thread from the start. You have not told me anything I didn’t already know.

aint nobody trying to teach you anything dude.
you’re older than i am…and you’ve been playing from day one.
fuck it, aint no point really talking bout this shit no more.

i’ve done the damn infinite…if you need proof brother, i’m at ctf nyc.
thats, china town fair, new york city.
when people got they mind set to something, its hard to take them off.
thats whats going on here.
i already know what uncombo means…
keep doing you spiderdan…after all, you do that best, whatever it is.

and to you fresh, keep supporting him.

nobody believes anyone anymore…
its a shame i gotta record it just so you guys can see it exist.
or maybe its because yall never done it.
but its ok…

i’m not a threat…clearly.
so yall can kindly go back into retirement…i promise you will not be bothered.

oh, btw.
since yall know so much, maybe i can learn something today.
many of times, magneto did this 2 hit combo on me right…getting this?
it was a cr.hp into s.lp…and he did this before i even left the ground.
how’d he do it?

or the time i grabbed juggy when he was powering up, and he stayed powered up for the entire round…

how bout the time i did an air combo with psylocke, ended it with u.hk…and instead of falling half screen away, the opponent fell straight down.

or the time i fsd’d with wolvie using the xvsf method, but could never do it again.

lol…i’ll be here when you got the answers.
have a nice night fellas.
dont think i’m mad at you guys, but never are you always right.
and truth is, just like i can learn from you maybe, you can learn from me…believe that.
oh…and for the record.
the only reason the spidey inf uncombos in arcade gameplay, is because the feel is different.
the arcade versions are always better than the home versions.
if its possible at home, then its more than possible in arcade gameplay.
you do have a goodnight fellas.

the combo is doable, but in a real match where it’s mashable, at about 3 web balls it takes just 1 button to get out it’s not an infinite.

but that’s where uncombo comes in, even though it may not connect, it will still continue the chain cause of lp being unblockable.

but with no mashing it’s an infinite.

pretty sure those were the points you guys were going for.

Edit: c.hp > s.lp is possible via suki cancel, pretty sure i don’t need to explain that : )

on some real shit astral…
i’m only arguing this point, because i’ve gotten like 5 reps of this…seriously.
IN ARCADE…the only person that can vouch that, was the person i beat up on.

Crazy Iron-man Infinite match combo

hello.

I know this combo long time ago but never publish before (actually, he stayed publish just one week in 2004)…because i wish to do a MSH combo video with some mine friends.

But i lost contact with then so i cancell the project.

I record this combo in 2003 at Kawaks emulator but who created 80% was Luis do Guama from Brazil (he’s crazy msh player).

Anyway, maybe later i will show some crazy stuffs never publish yet from this Game.

Later.

good shit man…good shit.
i wanna see the rest of it.
