well, as soon as TK used him alot of his fanboys and gayboy club boys followed along and just usede spidy alot.

I’m glad I’ve at least played with Spider-Dan once or twice, but he and I were on the Neo*Geo Mailing List back in the day.

While I think Spider-Dan’s tier list on the first page is accurate, I’d be open to say that we could know some things that we didn’t know back then that could change a few matchups.

But, yeah, based on my experience…especially how the guy that beat me and eventually won the tournament that I mentioned used to be a complete scrub until he started learning how to play…Spider-Man. He completely rushed-down my Captain America. If I wasn’t a non-tick throwing combomaniac back then, I would’ve kick thrown him into Final Justice, but Spidey is just way too fast and that jumping jab into THREE MORE hits in the air makes it an automatic for me that he’s the best character in the game.

Oh…and Wolverine doesn’t get past Captain America’s shield. :slight_smile: I can keep him out all day when I’m not rushing him down. :slight_smile: Iron Man would be better if it weren’t for the fact that Spidey and Wolvie can duck the Unibeam and he has no practical way of comboing into the Proton Cannon. Iron Man has virtually no safe combos. The Repulsor Blast is a big “HIT ME!” sign. The same can be said for Magneto, Psylocke, Hulk, and Blackheart…but Blackheart lacks the ability to easily do damage. He’s my vote for the worst character…though he is scary in the right hands, don’t get it twisted.

i’m pretty good with spidey myself, and i would usually have nothing to say but after playing some real ironmen, I have to speak up.
so far, 2 of the best ironmen i’ve played are astral’s ironman, and dark cyclops’s.
play them and see if them niggas give you any time to bullshit.
i had to be on my A game with those guys.
my point is, there is no real tier list.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF 5 YEARS FROM NOW, SOME RANDOM GUY PULLS OFF A 99HIT MIDSCREEN WITH JUGGY?
dont say its impossible, cuz what i be seeing the computer do to me sometimes, is impossible in arcade play.

Magneto is really good IMO.

mags is very good for big poking dmg with EM.

First, I’ll be honest…no…I haven’t played any real Iron Men in MSH in a long time. I’ve seen what he can do in MvC2 and there’s no doubt in my mind he’s top tier in that game. That being said, he still has no practical way of comboing into the Proton Cannon in MSH…to my knowledge.

This is the part where you enlighten me and tell me exactly how he does do it…if he can. Otherwise, I’ll stick to my statement.

See…back in the day when I was in my 20’s, I wasn’t impressed by trash talking and I’m still not. I need evidence. I’ll believe you when you tell me something. Otherwise, I’m going to believe what I stated.

So, please…help a brutha out. If I’m wrong, please tell me how Iron Man can combo into his Proton Cannon (besides the obvious cr.:hp: from at least 1/3-1/2 screen range…though I did see one time where a Repulsor Blast hit three times and popped a character WAY up in the air…I think it hit from behind Iron Man…and that would’ve allowed plenty of time to juggle a Proton Cannon…but I haven’t seen that since) and please give me a combo that Iron Man can use that’s safe on block that the average player with a decent dash can’t counter with a dash-in combo or super.

Tell me how I’m wrong. Don’t just tell me I’m wrong. I’ll humbly read what you have to say. I’ve been doing this for 15 years…and I have no problems admitting that I love learning from people who know more than me…when they’re willing to teach me. I pray that the amount of respect that I have for your knowledge was properly communicated in this post. I want to hear what you have to say. :slight_smile:

IM can connect cannon after c.mk, otg, s.fp only on ironman.

IM can connect cannon after doing a juggle up+fp in the air on the wall (eg. jumping lp mp fp inf).

there are probably a few other ways but seriously dude check out toxy vids or lezard on msh.

oh ya, not only is ironman as fast as magneto in xvs, but while he’s in flight which can be comboed into easily, he can dash as many times as he wants, so even lp mp dash is an fly inf.

c.lk c.mk sj XX AD down c.lk s.fk works the same as magneto’s hypergrab starter.

also msh damage is pretty high, you should really be using ironman’s counter’s not his super.

you mean the repulster > cannon? that only works in mvsc2 as a cancel but i don’t think it connected lol.

For spidey - his normal jumping infinite, I found doing all 4 hits (jumping jab, short, strong, forward) to be the hardest version. It’s been years since I even touched this game but I had more luck doing jump straight up jab, short, forward, jump toward jab, short, strong, blah blah. My point being - you don’t need to do all 4 hits, you can do just 3 and keep it going. You kind of have to look at where the opponent is and see which button to push last since strong/forward knock them up higher depending on which button you push.

Also are you sure about that web ball infinite? I could have sworn after 3 or 4 reps the opponent broke free automatically. Maybe I’m remembering wrong?

I know about super cancelling a Repulsor Blast into Proton Cannon in MvC2, but I also know that super cancelling doesn’t exist in MSH (a fact that makes MSH > MvC2 in my mind).

When you mentioned using Iron Man’s counters, though, that made me think that maybe I saw an Infinity Countered Repulsor Blast that popped the opponent up like that. I really wish I could remember the exact conditions, but I’m certain about that Repulsor Blast hitting 3 times. I just can’t remember where that 3rd hit occured and why. Fierce Replusor Blast, perhaps?

I’ll stop thinking now so my brain doesn’t cramp.

oh, and omni, you’re right, my version is harder, and no one does it.
thats why i do it brother.
i also super jump cancel d.mk into air combos, no one does that either.
i try to make my combos a lil bit more difficult.

No question, but of course, you have to be very careful with it. I generally use it to cover up having any of my regular move chains blocked, since he can usually be dashing comboed on block…especially after cr.:hp: or cr.:hk:. I might throw out the jab EM Disruptor…I might not. :slight_smile: I might just super-jump and :df: air-dash. Hyper Grav? Only if you’ve never seen that move before or your dashing after blocking timing is off! :slight_smile:

Cap is definitely my main character, but Magneto is one of my more “main” auxiliary characters so to speak. I like playing a wide range of characters.
