Marvel Studios | The Infinity Saga ends

Yeah, Disney loves to keep those prices high. I’m amazed I was able to get the Dumbo 70th Anniversary Blu-ray + DVD for $14.99 off Amazon, but then that’s why most people love Amazon.

That’s pretty much why I buy all my hardcover collections of comics from amazon. I’ve gotten every rick and Morty hardcover collection for around $25usd each when their MSRP are around $45. same whenever I buy hardcover collectors edition of video game guides. Get them for $20-25 when MSRP for them is $35-45

Avengers running that Long Game.

So Meta.

Infinity War was 20 minutes shy of 3 hrs. Makes sense the last movie of Phase 3 will be long.

Yeah, but back in the day, 2:30~2:45 was a regular length film.

3 was def always on the longer end, barring epics with intermissions.

Lol movies and music got shorter and shorter for different reasons.

Movies because lack of content honestly. Their act struggles are real.

Music for streaming reasons… Singles become more valued over the whole album. So shorter songs become king to stream more and make more money

Tell this to prog rock bands. My favorite bands first single off their new album that came out in October was 10 minutes long. The next few singles were almost or over 6.

This was especially true with big budget action and sci-fi which ran rampant throughout the 80’s. Blade Runner, Total Recall, Running Man, Die Hard, Terminator, etc.

Studios like to keep movie runtimes short so the films can have more showing a night thus generate more revenue.

Well most likely skipping the midnight showing on the account that I don’t want to get back home at 4:00 AM

Movies don’t really make money in the theater though.

Dudes are going to buy more concessions per film the longer the film.

How many more $5 bags of M&Ms are 15~30 shorter run times going to yield?

And why cede your film’s integrity for theaters which have none?

The theaters need the movies more than the movies need the theaters.

This is more true now, than ever.

I will never go to a midnight showing to any marvel movie again after going to the midnight for the first avengers. The crowd was fucking horribly obnoxious and loud. Ruined the whole experience.

Matinee or BlueRay, or bust.

Bruh, I’m a huge Phish fan. Some of their studio songs can easily hit the 10 - 15 minute mark. But their live stuff is why people listen to them, and their jams can go on for upwards of 30 mins.

Jam bands in general have longer songs. It’s the nature of the genre.

Counting Crows fan, here.

It gets silly.

Silly awesome.

As Stu said, too, Prog Rock bands live.

Biffy Clyro closing out with Stingin’ Belle… holy fucking shite.
