Marvel Studios | The Infinity Saga ends

Bob Iger confirms the Fox movie division will survive and keep releasing movies.

I hope that means a Deadpool 3/X-Force movie is back on track

Probably a Blade reboot/revival too ^^

Right on, didn’t figure there would be. It would probably be all over the internet already. Maybe with Endgame?

The hate was never about the movie itself. The campaign against it was purely about Larson politics.

Yeah but that is stupid. Baring something really fucked up like some Keviin Spacey shit, you shouldn’t confuse actors with their roles. I mean Tom Cruise is bat shit crazy but I’m not going to boycott Mission Impossible.

If I had to guess ,I would bet on Spiderman far from home in July.

5 months before is usually a good rule of thumb.

Right on. I thought they might have released one of the other two trailers for 7 or 8 during springtime. I guess it could have worked for 7 that early just because it was so long since Episode 3.

Yeah I was just about to post that. Endgame isn’t that far away really.

Star Wars Celebration is going to be mid April. Might see something around that time.

Just finished watching Captain Marvel. I have to agree its a solid upper tier MCU flim that ties into all of the current lore!!

And Skrulls were really…really well handled in this!!

Plus that mid and end credit scene!!!

Yeah, it was solid movie. Given all the nonsense I heard, I was expecting a cluster fuck.

Summary

What they did with the Skrulls caught me off guard and was really well executed. Like the Mar-Vel twist as well. Only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was how Fury lost his eye. I didn’t have a problem with Brie Larson’s performance. Given the way the narrative was constructed it made sense. I mean she had been trained for six years not to show any emotion. Maria Rambeau was awesome in a small role. It was cool to see little Monica Rambeau as well. I wonder if she survived the snap. It would be cool if she has managed to become Photon in the past 20 plus years.

Just got back from Marvel as well. Good stuff. Ignore the snowflakes that are triggered because Brie Larson doesn’t like being hit on by uggos at the airport. Solid film. Larson doesn’t have the presence needed for the role but she sticks the landing for the most part.

I will have to echo the sentiments here. Just finished watching it with my wife. This movie was “good”. I think most of the review community is comparing Marvel’s work across the years to this one movie. It’s like when the A+ student decides to just “chill” on a project. The supporting characters do a better job showing the audience who they are while we are told who Carol Danvers is. Ben Mendelsohn and Samuel L. Jackson are the standouts with Lashana Lynch (Maria Rambeau) having one really great emotional moment where her eyes sell the scene. Brie is around better actors and it appears that this director couldn’t get the same performance out of her.

The movie does a few things that surprised me, with the casting selling it. Overall, it’s a fun ride and recommend seeing it as a Marvel fan. Out of the legitimate origin stories, its solid, but I think it suffers from the Captain America issue when going into the first Avengers movie. I can give you all you need to know in about 5 lines of dialogue and you’d pretty much be caught up.

The movie gets 1 extra cool point for the Marvel Intro. I almost shed a man-tear.

and yes, DC did it better.

The previews just showed how many movies Disney has coming this year. Aside from the Marvel stuff, they showed two of the three live action adaptations of their cartoons coming this year (Alladin, and Dumbo, no Lion King trailer though… then again, that one’s technically animated). That’s a pretty full place from the house of mouse, not counting Episode 9.

So if I thought Wonder Woman was boring as stale, lukewarm, plain, white bread toast, this isn’t going to check off the savor box for me, then?

It depends on what qualities he liked about Wonder Woman that you disliked. And what qualities about Captain Marvel he thought made it inferior.

I disliked damned near everything about Wonder Woman… Hell, I didn’t even feel smug guessing that she herself was “The Godkiller Weapon” the same second it was made mention [of].

That doesn’t really speak against WW, per se, though.

The entire DC cinematic universe has been pukewarm (sic) ((yes, meta pun)) post Reeves 2.

To be fair to it, I haven’t seen Aquaman yet.

To be fair to me, there has been an awful lot of suck bracing me.

Braced Suck.

Sounds like a Korean horror porno.

I didn’t mention the intro, I want everyone to see it and being surprised :pensive:

You didn’t like Burton’s Batman when it came out? Dafuq is wrong with you

Micro Bats in buffed latex?

Nope.

Wonder Woman was great until the last 20 minutes or so. Her and Steve confessing their love to each other, the Aries reveal, the ww was the godkiller weapon all along “revelation” and the Aries fight itself were all super fucking cringe worth.

I caught my self audibly groaning several times during the last act when I saw it in theaters.
