i still think id be happiest with college/adult spidey. tobey as peter and andrew as spiderman. seems like alot of people in diff groups have had this idea as well as me.
So does the current arrangement with Spiderman mean Sony handles production and Marvel has creative input on the characters/story and how to connect the story with the MCU? I think these sort of co-productions are a great idea. Marvel can only produce so many movies so if the next Spiderman turns out well I hope we can see more of these arrangements. It would be awesome to see Fantastic Four and Xmen show up in Avengers.

Garfield just looked like some guy you’d see beneath the mask cosplaying at a convention or some shit. Was an ok spidey but not a convincing looking Peter at all.
I remember back in 2010 when they were narrowing down the actors lined up to be in ASM. A friend and I looked at Garfield and said he was one of the worst looking guys for the part. And then a week later they chose him. Lol.
The guy could actually play spidey in an acceptable way. But I had a hard time believing that his Peter Parker was some kind of outcast
erd. Besides not looking the part he just couldn’t sum up Parker as a character. But his Spidey actually acted like spidey. He was like the inverse of Toby who had a good Parker but a mediocre spidey .
I think not. But it’s whatever.
How can you not look like Peter Parker? He’s a generic looking white male.
The amount of time Parker has not been an social outcast/Nerd outcast/fucking w/e out classes the time he was one.
And being a social outcast was mostly his doing.
I mean the man is surrounded and loved by beautiful women and has been for a long time. Even I know the whole “Parker Outcast” shit is outdated as hell.

We’ve known Spider-Man was gonna show up in Civil War for a while now. Why is this news again?
Well personally I was just expecting a bit of a cameo, nothing major.
You call it out dated and it might be but that’s what they treated him as in both series of movies when he was pre-spidey. And in ASM it was a terrible attempt.
And it’s time to move on from that because Spidey never had the bad luck he thinks he has. His voice actors on the other hand…

You guys are talking like I think he should be a social outcast 24/7 every day of his life. I’m just referring to the Peter Parker they tried to portray in the movies. Peter at his origin has always been a social outcast. And that always changes for the most part after he gets his powers. Peter Parker as a character is anything but a generic white guy. Hell he’s not even a generic teenager which is how they portrayed him in ASM1. That’s like saying any generic white guy could play Stark or Thor.
That’s not the same at all. Thor is a God, and Stark is brilliant, Peter is actually a generic white dude who got super powers by stroke of luck.
I’d say so at the very beginning.
I have no idea when they started portraying him as a lazy genuis though. Was this after he’d had super powers for a while? Gotdamn it’s been so long since I bothered to read a Spiderman comic that wasn’t Superior.
