I agree, but I mean the “main” Marvel Universe. That’s really the only one people complain about. You never hear people bitch about something not being the same as a ultimate book lol.
Saw it today. First 15 minutes is better than the entire first avengers movie. Trumps guardians as best marvel movie now, and that post credit scene almost gave me a fucking heart attack. Captain america was used so well in this movie, and his shield. It made me a cap fan.
I hope we get that 3 hour long version for dvd release. This will easily be my most watched marvel film of all time. I thought guardians would be, but while its dope, i dont find myself as entertained as i was the first two times. This movie, oh, i know i could watch this as much as i watched iron man 2.
Imma see it again sometime next week fo sho.
Clicked it, and it was just all bait. Good for them on knowing how to get hits (well, that shouldnt be a compliment, as its a pretty easy formula), bad on her for being a retard for hire.
I have actually. At the height of the Ultimate line’s popularity fans would complain if the Ultimate version of a character was too close to their 616 counterparts. I find it valid as that line is suppose to reinvent the character to modernize them. I don’t read books under that line to retread old ground.
it’s funny how some people start becoming myopic about “c-level” characters and shit. look at the groundwork that marvel is laying out from a few feet away and you’ll see that pieces they have placed do fit in. not too irrelevant considering the inhumans are coming a little later down the pipeline. see the forest for the trees sometimes.
i was pretty sarcastic about the hawkeye/mockingbird bit since the movies are a modern “interpretation” of the characters on film.
it’s also apparent that the films take various particulars from the books [ultimate fury is sam jackson, duh] so it was really just nitpicking for me. but palicki is still darn hot…
the movie does get frantic during the third act that i really wanted more time to appreciate vision being brought into the mix.
still, this helps to slowly scrub away all of the clusterfuck “superhero” movies associated with the marvel brand over the last few years. well except maybe X2. kinda liked that shit, got a lot right imo.
I’ll just point this out since no one else seems to have done the same.
Spoiler
Aaron Johnson signed a multiple movie deal. So unless they’re just going to pay him to be in Scarlet Witch flashbacks, expect something to happen. Especially since, and I saw someone point this out, every major MCU character that’s died WITHOUT a funeral has come back. Coulson, Fury, Loki and Bucky. Though Frigga’s really the only relevant MCU character I can think of who got a funeral. Yeah, let’s just go with the contract.
“The Vision is described as being “…every inch a human being—except that all of his bodily organs are constructed of synthetic materials.”[39] The Solar Jewel on the Vision’s forehead absorbs ambient solar energy to provide the needed power for him to function, and he is also capable of discharging this energy as optic beams; with this, he can fire beams of infrared and microwave radiation. In extreme cases he can discharge this same power through the Solar Jewel itself which amplifies its destructive effects considerably, albeit at the cost of losing most of his resources. The Vision also possesses the ability to manipulate his density, which at its lowest allows flight and a ghostly, phasing intangibility, and at its heaviest provides superhuman strength, immovability, and a diamond-hard near invulnerability. The Vision is capable of reaching a density ten times greater than that of depleted uranium.[40] On one occasion, the Vision uses this extreme durability to render unconscious the villain Count Nefaria.[41] The Vision often uses his ability to alter his density against foes, by phasing an intangible hand through them and then partially re-materializing it—a process he describes as “physical disruption.” This effect typically causes great pain and results in incapacitation, as is the case when used against the Earth-712 version of the hero Hyperion.[42] Being an artificial life-form/android of sorts, the Vision possesses multiple superhuman senses—as well as superhuman stamina, reflexes, speed, agility, and strength (even without being at high density). The Vision was trained in unarmed combat by Captain America, and is an expert in the combat use of his superhuman powers. The Vision is an expert on his own construction and repair, and is a highly skilled tactician and strategist. The Vision controls his density by interfacing with an unknown dimension to/from which he can shunt or accrue mass, thus becoming either intangible or extraordinarily massive. The Vision also possesses superhuman analytical capabilities, and has the ability to process information and make calculations with superhuman speed and accuracy.”
I actually was a little disappointed that they took the spotlight away from Warmachine twice at the end, with Tony, then with Vision.
That said, all of his short scenes were either funny or cool looking, I like that he’s actually still out doing Warmachine shit outside of the Ironman movie.
[details=Spoiler]Was there a reason Ultron couldn’t just build some sort of remote control to activate the doomsday doo-hickey thing? Did it HAVE to be manually activated by one of his minions?
I don’t think it would take much to convert a car remote to do the job. beep beep game over.
I have to agree that Ultron was nowhere near as menacing as he was portrayed in the trailers. I know Whedon is all about the tongue and cheek humor, but it would have been nice if Ultron was a straight villain.
I was fully expecting him to to something truly horrifying to cement the fact that he is NOT to be fucked with. I prefer the cold, logic based Ultron who just simply viewed humans as a virus that needed to be wiped out. I didn’t dig this angsty, wise cracking version that had serious daddy issues.
Hulk vs. Hulkbuster was okay. I’m a Hulk fan so anything less than hulk totally destroying the hulk buster armor was a disappointment. I also think Hulk was under utilized in this movie and I didn’t see the point of the Banner/Widow relationship at all. Totally tacked on and forced.
Also, when Fury said they couldn’t track the quin jet because of Stark’s stealth tech, why didn’t he just ask Stark for a little help? Is Tony that much of a dick?[/details]
Because Vision locked his online access, duh! You didn’t watch the movie or what?
Agree much T___T
The movie was a huge disappointment, it gave us nothing of the conflict, drama and tragedy it hinted at. With trilogies there’s a law the second film should be darker and have a somewhat bitter end, with the villains winning in some way. This movie didnt’ care, they just made the same thing as Avengers all over again. Basically, everything Captain America: The Winter Soldier did good, this movie did bad…
Ultron is always angsty and has daddy issues, expecting something else in that regard would go against character. Wisecracking, yeah that was really unexpected, I agree.
