How did i know that as soon as i saw you shitting on avengers 2, you were gonna mention winter soldier. Its like everyone who has a terrible opinion, loves winter soldier, and no one will ever debate me on how fucking foolish that movie is, and its glaring flaws. Winter soldier is good, but one of the most overrated marvel movies to date. Arguably, cap 1 was definitely better.
Winter soldier. The villain plot alone of flying a ship around pew pewing people is enough to make me never watch it again. Really hydra. In a world where the avengers exist, you thought hijacking a shield ship and pew pewing people was the ultimate plan. ANYWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS
Word. I mean, i thought it was pretty clear, that ultron was suppose to come off as an ego driven, newborn, who is still processing things, but thinks he is better than he actually is. Plus like whedon said, he just wanted to bring some life to ultron, and what a waste of a great actor if they just only gave james spader (who some of you young shit heads dont know about) nothing but dark, dreary lines to muddle for a 2 hour movie.
I thought an ai not acting like a robot actually made fucking sense. He actually seemed like a person, rather than an ai, who acts no different then a sophisticated robot. People are hella stupid nitpicking ultrons personality imo. They wanted like a dark neo ultron.
My two cents.
FIrst, people have to realize this is not a tv show, and is not a comic book. Many common sense things you could put into a comic book, you cannot in a movie due to budget and time limits. Ya, would ultron stacking up an army and sending them around the world to destroy cities, as a plan to disperse the avengers to save the innocents, while he lifted his home made meteor up and dropped it, made more sense? Sure, but there is no time and budget to do shit like that.
Not to mention, the movie was cut for time pretty significantly, so maybe things will make further sense for some people who dont understand the why of certain things int he movie, when the dvd comes out. But just sometimes in movies you cant waste time over explaining every single tiny motive. Thats what books, tv shows, and comics are for.
I thought hulk vs hulkbuster was awesome, and you just gotta enjoy it for what it is, rather than be waiting for the unstoppable hulk, that is pretty broken. You gotta write hulk into a maintainable character, otherwise he just becomes too strong, and people just sigh when he is on the screen, cause here comes the hulk, no one can stop him, oh well. Comic fans would love it, but a movie director and writers have to moderate hulks bad assness.
I’m sure in the uncut version, you might hear tonys comments on not bothering to track hulk. Hulk left cause he wanted to, scarlet knew this, and hes not their toy to force back into the avengers, nor can they to be honest.
Where did you read that at? I saw that it beat the first avengers movie on first day opening, and its clearly on course to beat that movie in box office numbers. Also, as pointed out, the weekend isnt over yet, and many people were watching floyd vs mayweather last night, rather than seeing age of ultron. Those people will likely be out today to see it.
One of Tony’s AIs is named Jocasta. I thought that was cool.
Again, I preferred the look of the helmet on the Ultron drones over the main Ultron. I thought Ultron was also too comedic, poetic, and emotional. Avengers EMH did Ultron far better.
There was also a missed opportunity to more coherently and seriously develop Ultron’s hate for humanity, his creators, and explain his “Vision” of the future. The movie also misses a big final moment where Vibranium Ultron should step in a starts bodying the team for awhile by himself before getting beaten. I never really felt Ultron had a serious chance at defeating the Avengers. Wave after wave of easily smashable drones isn’t all that interesting.
Lastly, I thought the start of the movie was very jarring. Just BAM, here’s a fight. All the Avengers are together and apparently they had been out decimating Hydra cells around the world. Something about that seemed off to me.
Overall a good movie and I enjoyed it. I like Winter Soldier and Guardians better. There are ways I thought the movie could have been better and really taken it to the next level. But that’s just my opinion. I am glad to see a lot of people are enjoying the movie

Did Hulk Smash*(in more ways than one)*? Did Thor, well, Thor? Was Iron Man a smarmy, loveable douche? Was Cap doing amazing shit with the shield? Did we get team DHCs? Was Quicksilver cool? Did Wanda fuck shit up with magic?
Yes? Then shut the fuck up and enjoy the movie. Save all that crying shit for next year when WB finds a way to make a Batman/Superman movie completely terrible and overly melodramatic…
The problem with people complaining about Ultron characterization is that they trusted the trailer. First major fuck up.
Ultron was fine. I thought he was the best part of the movie besides the mid credit scene.
My problems are the same as rocks. Can’t wait for the DVD release.
Man i loved ultron. The scene where he goes from rewarding Klaw to ripping his fucking arm off and losing his mind, then apologizing, then going berserk again, was brilliant. It showed how emotionally unstable he was. Ultron with Pym daddy was different, due to his complete origins (Wonderman, etc etc) and all the shit they didn’t have time for. How they made him, with Stark’s involvement, and the Civil War setup, was well done, and I liked a lot of Ultron’s dialogue.
I think one of the film’s failure’s was that the events were an isolated incident. Would have liked to see Ultron go all over the world, rather than just one random Euro city.
A lot of people crying because they wanted an Empire Strikes Back movie, completely forgetting that Civil War will likely be that movie, and we still would have TWO MORE FUCKING MOVIES at least, with the Infinity War duo.
I know, I should have learned after they pulled that shit with Iron Man 3…

We didn’t even see Vision destroy the last Ultron drone. It likely still survived whatever Vision did to it.

He built what he thought the perfect plan to destroy the world, then he went for plan B and tried to rub it into the Avengers face, hell IT worked aside from Stark coming up with a plan to stop it. Even a robot isn’t going to contain EVERY known wireless frequency communication but more then that he was just being a douche by making it dramatic, much like EVERYTHING he did in the movie including destroying his previous non-Vibranium model just to freak Black Widow out after his monologue about his plan.

I will say the Banner/Natasha thing felt a little forced plus the Twins and the Vision probably didn’t get enough screen time IMO but aside from that great movie.
