Been saying it for a while… That shits the directors fault. She’s been fine in other movies and Oscar shit.
Way too high.
Weird Alien tech works differently.
Nebula can sorta remote control some of her limbs, and I guess she accidentally connected to her old self.
Also they built in Dr. Who rules… Timey wimey shit is weird. Thus they can use any exvuse because time travel is fucked
I will say that the short hair doesn’t flatter Brie Larson as well as her longer hair did…either long hair style, both where better.
Thats because she shot the endgame scenes first and most of it was in front of a blue/green screen without the other guys around
It might be because I don’t actually care about Ms Marvel as a character. Think the problem with her was the aforementioned “we have all these characters leading up to Infinity War that people cared about and…then there’s this last minute broad who is uber nuts well enjoy her doing stuff that we probably could’ve had hulk do except Thanos punked him.”
I’m fine with Thanos beating down Hulk though, don’t take that the wrong way.
All of the actual mainline characters had pretty great story arcs at the end of it. Iron Man really went different places in the movies I saw (didn’t see IM2 or IM3…may do that tonight), Cap’s characters went through a lot, Thor defo went through a lot and they all ended in a satisfying way.
I’ll cosign Captain summoning Mjolnir for the hype it was. Thor laughing about it was pretty damn great too.
The last battle was awesome in scope but super busy in action. Compared to Avengers 1, it didn’t really get a lot of satisfying money shots (but obviously because they’re working with 34573485029384298 characters that people like so its hard to give them all individual standout moments). They were there for a lot of them though, and those were cool.
Spidey armor murdering aliens was some stuff though. Peter Parker apparently spent his time in Queensbridge while snapped.
The way the stones work in the movie is definitely way different than the comic books. They’re depowered but sort of uncontrollable. Definitely an interesting dynamic to them. I guess part of me wanted some of the insanity from the comic book version, but it sort of works out for the best that they aren’t entirely existence altering with infinite power; although it sort of makes them strangely underwhelming. For instance Thanos with 3 stones was doing crazy stuff in Infinity War. Then he got all 6 and broke the gaunlet doing some silly shit. Feels like he could’ve done all he wanted without busting the gaunlet had he cared. So smart but apparently super duper lazy or some shit.
In general everybody felt very human in a lot of areas. They made the movie have actual stakes with wins and losses that mattered. Black Widow’s sacrifice was the only one that seemed to have lacked some weight to it. Probably because it didn’t feel like she personally gave something up. Maybe she did need a movie with more to it. Self centered spy to one that sacrificed herself for the greater good; probably used as a mirror to Stark in a bunch of ways.
Personal rating. I watch these movies to have fun. I’ve already said multiple times that my favorite MCU movie is still the first Avengers. That should more or less let you know what I’m looking to get out of these movies.
Yeah when I found that out it makes sense. Still, she better adapt sooner than later.
Just bs’ing cause I hate time travel.
I love some time travel movies/shows. I LOVE Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Just an amazingly clever movie.
I loved a lot of Dr. Who.
Here though, I kind of wish they’d found a different way to move the plot forward. I don’t hate the time travel but it got spoiled to me so I just went in with indifference. If its what happens, its what happens.
Thanos getting murdered during breakfast was hilarious though.
Oooh, Antman stepping on the big ass Thanos General was great too.
New Hulk: loved him for a lot of his character but…I just love watching Hulk smash shit. Last scene needed the Hulk vs Thanos runback so bad.
It was still a lot of fun. Shit, Needed more Rhinos flipping people over. Rhinos flipping thots over made BP a 9/10 movie.
I like time travel.
What I hate is multiverse shit.
Sliders was pretty godlike though.
I can take it or leave it on multiverses too. Its a fun way of doing “What If?” stories but can become convoluted fairly quickly. BlazBlue has both at the same time for w/e reasons. Doesn’t feel like the multiverse is an idea that would apply to the MCU very well. Haven’t watched the Spiderverse movie so maybe multiverse stuff can/does work.
Need to watch that and some of the other MCU movies I’ve missed out on. Need to peep Captain Marvel too. Unfortunately moving forward with no IM or Steve Rogers is gonna to be hard. There’s a lot to the CapAm character that’s hard to replace.
Yeah, the fact that I have 0 emotional investment with Captain Marvel is going to make it tricky to watch.
Yea no Steve Rogers going forward is gonna hit me in the long run as he is my favorite character by far. I love him and what he stands for and represents. Amazing comic book character and Chris Evans did him soooo much justice.
I just keep telling myself this way they can’t fuck him up.
I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again: Chris Evans basically did to Captain America what Christopher Reeves did to Superman.
I don’t know who else they put in that spot and make me believe in the same way.
It’s going to be really hard for anyone to step foot in the roles of any of the Avengers. This is even more true for the big three.
I feel like anybody could be Iron Man given certain things. RDJr beyond killed it in that role though.
But CapAm needs you to have a certain something. The role requires you to be timeless. I’m sure there’s a lot of people equally qualified as Evans. Bu he just had that something.
Well i think you also need to be able to sell that good for the sake of good mentality Cap has without coming off as corny (when it really counts) and misguided naivety. That’s what him and Reeves have in common in my opinion. They embody and make you believe in someone doing the right thing purely because it’s the right thing to do. They inspire. A lot of that is in the writing and directing of course but it takes that special oomph to make the audience believe it to.
I love Cap and Supes because they inspire. They dare you to be better by setting the example and leading through action. In that big fight at the end Caps arguably the weakest dude there power wise, but he’s also right there on the front line. Same as in Infinity War, him and T’Chala ditch the pack to get there first and get the front line started early. Imo our times mythological gods are the best ones because they don’t exist to explain the existance of shit. They exist to tell riveting tales of inspiration. Cap embodies that in these movies and I love it.
End Game was pretty much a story to close the chapter out on the OG crew. Captain Marvel really had no business taking any of that limelight. That teaser at the end of Infinity War was the biggest rile up that went butt fuck no where. All it did was just drum up Captain Marvel sales and tricked people into thinking she’d be hot shit and final solution the shit out of Thanos in End Game. When fact of the matter is, she was hardly in the damn thing and was barely a main focus lmao.
EDIT:
Final Justice DLC
