Marvel Studios | Hide Your Eyes, Hide Your Ears

Not if people just use spoiler tags for their spoilers. Its really not hard.

I usually try to see a movie opening weekend. I don’t have any kids of my own but if I’m interested in a family movie I’ll call up my sister to see if she and my nephew are interested. He’s a Pokemon fan so I’m gonna try to get together to see detective Pikachu.

Ok, man. But I still like to avoid the thread if it’s a movie I legitimately care about being spoiled on. As you know all too well, I don’t put much stock into the opinions of others when it comes to deciding if I like a film or not. And then you have guys like Alpha mentioning details that he may not think are spoilerish, but had I not seen the movie before reading his post I’d be a little upset learning that detail beforehand. Safer for me to just avoid anywhere on the internet that might mention shit like that.

Does Dark Phoenix rival Captain Marvel?

Sorry but i did not take my son to this one. He did catch it the following Tuesday even thou a friend of his spoiled him on a major plot point. He had fun and was on a sugar high for the inlaws >:).

Yes. The Phoenix Force is more powerful than Captain Marvel.

So apparently after just over a week in theaters Endgame has already beaten Titanic for the second highest grossing film of all time and is just $600M away from beating Avatar.

Cool cuz I was getting tired of James Cameron hogging the top two spots.

Good. I still haven’t seen Avatar. I have a 1.50 rental on Google Play so I may leverage that if available. I am really surprised that Titanic had that much of a box office return.

Yeah but are you prepared for him crying about superhero movies for the next 10 yrs?

In terms of power? The Phoenix force exists across all dimensions. It’s a cosmic power that Def dwarfs marvel.

I mean…it can use its cosmic awareness to stop future events and people from existing. Absorb any sort of energy from cyclops eye blasts to actual someone’s life energy to increase its power. Can cross dimensions and timelines at will among a bunch of other ridiculous things.

The Phoenix Force is well beyond Captain Marvel.

I fucking hate that movie.

Yeah. I remember watching avatar with my sister and her at the time boyfriend. I was bored through the entire movie. I just kept thinking “did it really take Cameron 10 years to write a really bad space fern gully? This is fucking trash”. Like…it looked pretty, I guess? But everything was so fucking boring and dumb. Also: unobtabium is probably the worst name for anything ever.

Salt does the body good.

Well it IS taking Cameron 10 more years to finish the sequel to Avatar (or from what I heard, the full trilogy?), but instead of bitching about superhero movies, he should be more worried about Terminator being constantly thrown into the crapper after 2.

Whole time I was watching I was wishing they’d blow the place to shit and keep firing.

Avatar was an anomaly, whether u think Endgame was shit or not, it atleast kept your attention thoughout, Avatar didn’t.

I don’t get how it broke so many records, it was put together well, but snore inducing

Iirc it was the first feature film to be in imax commercially. It also made 3D viewing a thing again. At the time Avatar was a technically marvel since it was made with so much ground breaking filming technology, developed and funded by Cameron. Now? It doesn’t hold its weight, imo.

A lot of people who enjoy avatar say how pretty it is/was/whatever but never mentioning anything about the actual movie.

The 3D was impressive, and nighttime in the jungle reminded me of how some summer music festivals looked when I was younger on some long strange days. But man, what a misdirect with that first trailer. It looked so fucking cool, and DARK.
