Marvel Studios | Hide Your Eyes, Hide Your Ears

I’m aware.

I’m just shit posting at this point. Only things I look forward to with MCU now is Ant-Man and Spidey. Loki, Hawkeye and whatever solos cooking can go fuck off though. :coffee:

Shame I don’t have anything to look forward to DC wise since Green Lantern was fucking ruined. Fml

Out of curiousity, which MCU movie made you leave the theatre going “HOLY SHIT THAT WAS GREAT” and that opinion hasn’t changed.

Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Thor Ragnarok, IM1, Cap 1

Honorable mention: Into the Spider-Verse. I know it’s not MCU but I still absolutely loved the fuck out of it.

Oh, and maybe Avengers 1? Like, it hasn’t aged well AT ALL when it comes to effects. But it’s still solid. My first time seeing it in theaters was fucking awful though. I could barely pay attention or hear what was going on cause of all the shitty and obnoxious fans. So I had to see it a week later by myself. I honestly haven’t seen it since then though except for randomly clips on tv. My opinion might change if I watch it again? I dunno

Oh! And Iron Man 2. I absolutely get why everyone hates it. But like, to me it’s one of those it’s so bad it’s good kinda things. A guilty pleasure you know? But man, I love that movie.

So you going to 180 on us or more likely BS us.
Leaving the trolling to @Eskills , please. It does not suit you.

I mean…that’s what changing an opinion on something is. So yeah? Not sure why someone changing their stance or opinion on something is so offensive to you.

I will give IM2 credit it tried to adapt parts of the Demon in the bottle storyline which before the movies was the definitive Iron Man story without having dude actually become a alcoholic and the soap opera like events it brought about.

We find a way.

Bernie coming for Marvel studios

Saw Endgame. Liked it more than IW actually. Probably give it an 8 maybe 8.5/10.

Summary

One thing I liked is when Tony passed, it wasn’t this cliche, ‘he gives one last speech before he kicks it’, it was like, he was there and he was gone. It’s how I’d imagine a person dying on the battlefield would be like, barely enough strength to say a word before you completely flatline. Powerful stuff. Tom Holland did a good job in that scene also, but it felt like Gwenyth Paltrow was phoning it in just a bit.

Overall good movie but Marvel is basically rebuilding from the ground up after this. Captain Marvel ain’t it. Spiderman could be the next flagship character but they have to tweak him a bit.

Marvel will have to renew their deal with Sony to make Spidey the next flagship. There’s no incentive on Sony end to do it with the success of Venom and Spider-verse

Exactly. I thought Spider-verse was great and Venom was a harkening back to B movie style 90’s comic book flicks. The box office returns proved Sony cracked the code. Marvel is going to have to pay Star Wars franchise money to get Spidey back.

One thing that's been really bothering me

is that people are still playing Fortnite in 2023.

I mean we can just close the thread now. You won.

Edit: finally opened my Marvel x Adidas. These things look so much better in person

One other thing, and maybe you guys already had this conversation, but:

Summary

Everyone complaining about how they handled Thor: since when did people care about Thor? In all my years reading comics, and being abreast of nerd culture, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who said Thor was their favorite character. Just the concept of the character is a little silly, him speaking in old English and all. And I think even the comics back then acknowledged this.

Even in the MCU Thor’s first two movies were treated like a matter of course, . He didn’t even become interesting until Ragnarok. I liked what they did with him in Endgame I just don’t think he should stay fat.
