Yeah, I would not base proof of racism on him not using Cassandra Cain. She was sort of a niche character in the Bat family outside of her own book and a few others and this is me as Cassandra Cain fan speaking.
Granted I can’t place him using any Asian characters well, but outside of a few big named characters he can write retrospective with, plus the new Nova (which seemed a personal thing as he was named after his son) I can’t say user most characters well.

Because Iron Fist that we know and have read has never been Asian and there is no reason for him to be Asian. It doesn’t fit the lore/mythos/history of the character. To make Danny Asian You’d basically have to rewrite him and the History of the Iron Fist mantle from scratch to the point he would have been Danny/iron fist in name only.
It’s an entirely different situation than say Steve Rogers passing down the mantle of Captain America to Bucky or Falcon. Or Miles Morales who is spider-man but with his own unique origin and existed along side Peter. Or the hosts of Venom.
People that were bitching about Iron Fist not being Asian have never actually read Iron Fist.
The rest I agree with though. It’s fucked he messed with so many people’s livelihoods and careers just because they’re Asian. Same with omitting or killing characters in shows or comics due to their ethnicity

Their is an Asian iron fist in the lore of the mantle. But Danny isn’t Asian and most people for some weird ass reason actually thought Danny got changed to be white. I had literal arguments with people trying tk explain to them he was never Asian and maybe they were confused with the retcons they did in the mid 2000s to add more people to the mantle.
Yes. Predecessors of Danny have been Asian but that was to create more mythos of the Mantle and how the power of Iron Fist came to be. Just like you said. But Danny, the scruffy haired white kid for all intensive purposes is Iron Fist and always has been.

They had cavewoman Phoenix, the OG Sorcerer Supreme, caveman mammoth riding Ghost Rider, Neanderthal Star Brand, caveman “Iron” Fist, OG Black Panther, and Odin.

The producers were told to hire martial artist/stunt actors for a martial arts movie role and they i turn auditioned a bunch of asian stunt men
