they could do an almost risk free Kingpin movie to sorta test the waters on bringing the character back. It would be a crime/noir movie except have NY as background with Kingpin doing usual stuff

It could be some mysterious marvel/Sony movie. But the fact both reports are released the same day. I’m betting it’s Madame Web. Which we’ve known about for a while.
Or it could be the rumored Kraven movie. Or the Silver Sable movie (why?)
Kraven would be better imo butttt various reports have been hinting at either Spiderman 3 or possibly black panther 2 for Kraven. For bp2 they were thinking of maybe rebooting him as someone from wakanda. Even saw some super tight fanart.
I’m still going with the most common theory that Namor will be the big bad for BP2
A Wakandan Kraven would be dope as fuck too though.

Hoping for spider woman movie…
I don’t think so. Black Panther has been one of the most (maybe the most) politically grounded movies in the MCU, I don’t think it would fit for a sequel to fight a fictional nation of merpeople.
As for this Madam Web movie, it’s clear Sony has absolutely no idea of what it’s doing. I’m not watching their shootoff cinematic “Spider-Verse-Without-Spider-Man-Verse”.
Come on, outside of Spidey and technically his fellow web swinging heroes/antiheroes that is all Sony got.
The second Spider Woman was the one I grew up with and preferred until Spider Gwen, but her as the current Madame Web does nothing for me.
I mean like people most of us never gave a shit for. His main villains have alot of potential for movies. The jackal could easily be a tragic Mr. Freeze type story of done right. I meant more about third stringer type characters. Madam web just never did it for me… Black cat is more interesting but i worry she will be viewed too much like cat woman.
Theirs also the mob element that goes on outside of king pin. Those are never really fleshed out well in the media.

I would agree on Black Cat, she has the most potential but also the risk of making her into a Cat Woman copy is a problem no one has figured out how get her out of yet.

She did become a leader in the NY crime underground. She’s more straight up criminal than antihero which catwoman has been for the past 20-25 years
