People are OK with loose ends because they liked the movie. If they didn’t it, would be a complaint buffet. I enjoyed the movie, but enjoyment does not necessarily mean that the work can’t be criticized.
Phase 4 of the MCU will be:
“Avenge The Loose Ends”
Glad to know people are giving Blade props. Sure that 3rd movie was bad, but that franchise paved the way for MCU.
Russo Q&A, answers a lot of angry questions in this thread
Most of you should read it.

Q: EG’s plot, is it a parallel universe or a closed time loop?
A: Nope, not a time loop. Both Ancient One and Hulk were right. You can’t change the future by simply going back to past. But it’s possible to create a different alternate future. It’s not butterfly effect. Every decision you made in the past could potentially create a new timeline. For example, the old Cap at the end movie, he lived his married life in a different universe from the main one. He had to make another jump back to the main universe at the end to give the shield to Sam.
Hello skirting the issues lmfao
Fuck that Q&A, holy shit.
Nope, you guys are still mad I see.
Putting a band-aid on a stab wound ain’t fixing shit.
It’s all good. At least he tried.
on a very minor level. the only real meat was the cap one and im calling bullshit.
Summary
still doesnt deal with the implications of cap during the period a parallel universe existed. also you have to buy into the fact, cap has to ignore every major event to live a peaceful life. whoch goes against his very core as a character.
also doesnt deal with gamora at all. Though i had a thought, theirs a recent comic/saga of gotg where gamora realized a piece of her soul has been stuck in the soul stone for decades and goes on a mission to regain it. id like to think this 2014 gamora might end up doing something similar.
Word.
I think a lot of the issues that you guys believe exist in this movie, will be dealt with at a later time.
Probably setting up a bunch of shit in the future.
What’s odd is I’m not even mad, just upset. Movie could’ve been so much better. Instead we got 3 hours of inconsistent, unnecessary shit flinging and loop holes.
Summary
We’ll worry about it/address is later is a stupid excuse. Time travel is the simplest but most complicated way to solve something. It’s also very lazy. There were tons of ways they could have taken from the comics to stop Thanos. Some would have had to take some character shuffling but it would still be doable.
Time travel is never simple and the ending left us with more questions than answers. Yeah they’ll “address them later” but that doesn’t mean their resolutions or solutions will be good or even competent.
Setting up a bunch of bullshit doesn’t mean that shit will be good.
This is a massive load of my head. Thank you Russos.
Summary
I on board with the time travel because they got to bring back everyone that helped shape the MCU to what it is now. They really wanted to have everyone in this movie and the time travel was a good way to do that.
That’s what I love so much about the movie, they really wanted to make everyone feel a part of it and we got to see everyone again.
Summary
The point wasn’t to stop Thanos. It was to undo what he did. Since he destroyed the stones after he used them what other recourse did the heroes have?
Summary
They shouldn’t have done that in the first place.
So in that Q&A response
Summary
They did a really terrible display showing he jumped back to the main timeline. In every other scene in the movie, to travel to and from a timeline you appeared through the machine. He was on a bench, which is what created the problem.
Again it was a stylistic choice for the narrative that ignored the story logic presented. It doesn’t mean that this movie “fails” because of an inconsistency, but if you make a rule and then break it, it’s just that.
Summary
Agree with this 10000%. In my view they shouldnt have done a snap and subsequently reverse snap in the first place. Story could have been much better (infinity war and end game). Honestly its a good pair of movies, it was fun but they could have done so much better and it was a case of missed opportunity.
