Don’t forget that sentinel alone beats like the entire capcom roster on mvc2. Think about that before you say SHOTO’s should still be in it. If they are in it then they better give them like super powers or something and SPEED to keep yo with marvel. There’s a reason why their called LOW TIER for a reason in Mvc2. They just chose the wrong choice of characters. Dante and Nero would be excellent in a new game.
Gene!!! I fuckin love Godhand and Gene would be perfect for a new Vs. game. Hell there’s also Devilhand as well. So as far as new characters on Capcom’s side you could have (2D) Nero, Dante, Lady Trish, Gene, Devilhand, Samanosuke, Jubei, RE4 Leon and Ada…hell Jack from RE4 would be dope.

I would personally avoid the RE characters because of their reliance of firearms (it is a fighting game), but your other choices are pretty good.

I replaced Maximo with a Power Stone character, but I haven’t decided if it’s better to have Falcon play with his Power Stone transformation, or to restrict the transformation to a super (I’m leaning towards the former).
I’m having a tough time deciding whether Bionic Commando should give up his spot for a God Hand character or an Onimusha character. I’m leaning against Samanousuke because we already have a sword character (Strider). I don’t know much about God Hand, but I respect the series enough to give one of its main characters a consideration. I’ll have to rely on other opinions to find out who’s a better fit for this roster.
As for the ladies, it’s either Tessa (she is somewhat known, with her appearances in Pocket Fighter and SNK vs Capcom on top of Warzard/Red Earth) or Vanessa (will have the best standing animation since Elena, has moves that could hang with the Marvel cast), but if you know another Capcom female that should take that spot, I’m open to it.
Alzarath’s recommendation for Sigma fits my last Capcom villain spot well, but I’m still open to hear other suggestions for that spot.
I still think BoF deserves SOME form of representation. If you’re not keen on Ryu, at least add Nina/Deis (or even Myria if you want).
After thinking about it, I reconsidered on my “no two Ryu’s” rule and would put Ryu of Breath of Fire in there, but the problem is that I already ran out of space. If anything, he’ll have to fight with Gene/Bionic Commando/Samanosuke for that last spot. If it’s any consolation, I’d definitely put him on the waiting list for MvC4 if he didn’t make the MvC3 cut.
You can make some interesting default pairs with this roster.

I seriously hope capcom gets that license back and reads some of the things we wrote in this thread. If so, then mvc3 would be an sick game. Without a doubt it the vs series would be the king of fighting games again if this comes out and they do it right.

you should try looking into the breath of fire series for capcom characters and rival school charaters since the have the same air juggle system as marvel

Anything is possible, see Street Fighter IV and a KOF with new (and hi-res) 2D sprites. If this upcoming lineup of fighting games sells well on the next-gen consoles, there will be a great financial incentive for both companies to deliver a sequel, assuming of course that Marvel and Capcom work out an agreement.
Hmm yes it is possible I suppose. Hopefully they read some of the stuff we put in here to have some sort of idea for the game. But it’s all about that license agreement for now. If they even announce that part alone this forum and the rest of the world would erupt.

This is pretty good overall. Captain America should be Bucky Barnes since that one carries a gun and a knife, more options for players.
Spider-Man - Um, yeah there should be no references in his ending to him being single now, this fact alone will contradict his appearances and endings in MSH and MSH vs. SF. It’s bad enough that Marvel’s new claim saying he was never married ever thanks to… um… Magic that doesn’t need to be explained - - is forcing us to erase and or edit most of our older comics, let’s leave these endings alone. :looney:
Ghost Rider I just can’t see. Why? Because his motorcycle is a major part of the character. You take that away from him at any point he’s basically naked. Oh I’m sure he can smack you with his chain and set you on fire, but it just won’t be the same even if he busts out the motorcycle just for supers. I’m sure he could use his motorcycle for his entire time in the game but the learning curve to nail this is going to make him low tier by default. Unless of course, this is a 3D overhead fighter like Marvel Nemesis which I just don’t want. Could be wrong and I may lack vision, but I just don’t see him working out.
She-Hulk - Love the character but I can’t see her replacing Hulk. She doesn’t have the popularity really and her book is also struggling. Besides, not putting the warrior Hulk of Planet Hulk or World War Hulk in this game is a crime among crimes! Well if they don’t want to touch current storylines, I still can’t see Shulkie even replacing classic Hulk or the Professor Hulk Capcom used back in the day. She can be in it, but not as a Hulk swap.
There’s other Marvel females you can toss in if you want another and a new female - Emma Frost, formerly White Queen for one is currently Marvel’s most popular female, don’t ask me why, I’m a Psylocke fan myself. :lovin:
Ultron - Which Ultron? The female one in Mighty Avengers or how he’s turned himself back into male in Annihilation Conquest? Well the female one is kind of naked, it probably wouldn’t get past Hilary Clinton and we don’t need that attention.
I think your list needs 1 WTF character like both Shuma-Gorath and Blackheart were. Squirrel Girl! She’s actually defeated Deadpool, Doctor Doom and Thanos before LOL she can be God Tier. Other than her, Howard the Duck, Spider-Ham, Turk, lol probably a lot of odd ball characters you can use if you think about it. 
If you want to get the support of the SRK Comic book forum, I can not recommend adding Adam Warlock (popular SRK member too - Automatic win with this site ha ha) and Deadpool in there enough. Heck Adam Warlock was doing fake shoryukens in Annihilation Conquest so we all know he’s a shoto.

This list I really like. For option five I would use Gene of God Hand. Gene REALLY needs the love. My beefs with BC are mainly because pretty soon there is going to be 2 different versions of Radd Spencer, know renamed Nathan Spencer. In the HD game he’ll be white with red hair, in the 3D game he’ll be really tanned with brown dreadlocks. Um, which version do you use and which game do you silently plug with this? Well, if you can sort this out, swapping Bionic Commando with Captain Commando is a good bet. Though yeah I guess seeing how well 3D Bionic Commando goes should play a part in your decision. I don’t think Capcom is gonna use Final Fight Streetwise Guy for anything.
Samanosuke I have no beef with other than it involves backwards time travel. So far, unless you count Arthur as a helper the time travel thing in this series is usually for characters from the future, never of the past. Well I suppose a case can be made for some of the Alpha characters by MVC2, but we all know that’s mainly a re-use swap thing. On top of that, Samanosuke you may have issues with since his likeness is that of a Japanese actor, so even if he’s greenlighted you may have difficulties using him for say, MVC4 like what happened with Norimaro. Though yeah it’s your list and you probably don’t have to worry about that. :looney: Soki of Onimusha Dawn of Dreams isn’t based on any actor really, though not to ruin the game for anybody but he does go through, well A LOT in the game, I’m not sure you want him playing a hero here. :looney: The whole cast of Sengoku Basara is up for grabs if you want another weapon wielder and the time thing doesn’t bug you and hey, if it’s a 2D game Capcom can re-use their sprites from Arc’s game.
I would say Vanessa over Tessa - Hey that rhymes! :tup: Wesker over Nemesis since he’s the ONLY Resident Evil character that knows how to fight, seriously… RE bosses looses to a bazookas, missile launchers, etc - Least Wesker can dodge… Sigma himself is fine and I don’t have a problem with him. Though having both him and X seems a bit repitive. Perhaps if you use a Mega Man from Battle Network, ZX or one of those other handheld MM franchises that I haven’t checket out yet, I only play the Zero series really… 
EDIT: Where’s Chun-Li? She’s the most popular Street Fighter character. Seriously. There’s a big reason why she shows up in all of these crossovers. Poll after poll she beats out everybody. Sometimes Ryu is second, sometimes Ken is but most of the time Chun-Li’s on top. Only in one popularity poll have I ever seen Ryu beat out Chun-Li.
I guess that’s it. Overall nice job. So long as you have Dante in their I have no real beefs with your list. If the game turned out like your roster I wouldn’t have too many problems with it actually. I’m just kinda bored and you seemed like you wanted more responses on this, at least a bunch of months ago… Okay I’m just bored.
Marvel is proud of their Capcom games.
It could be that Marvel just wants to brag that their characters are in record breaking video games but it could be a hint that they wouldn’t mind teaming up again with Capcom.
One can only hope…
Let’s just hope they make enough copies, it would suck to be finding MVC3 for like $100 on ebay if it ever comes out.
