Marvel nemesis 2 got rushed down. ROMed and then snapped out

Nah, imo limit it to like, 30-35 chars tops. I don’t even care for most of the chars in 2, tbh.

hell i could careless as long as they revamped spidey venom and added some spidey characters like doc ock, kaine (or ben reilly), and sandman. not the movie versions but their bad ass comic versions. hobgoblin too but he would be iffy i suppose.

Go try mugen out and then you’ll understand why no one wants that.

Green Goblin. Nuff said…

Mugen is crap but a nice concept. If MvC3 or whatever game Capcom decides to give us had a billion plus characters i guarantee they could make it work. Think sf2 with 8-12 characters to MvC2 with a bazillion characters… It’s capcom. They can do it :lovin:

We should sign a petition for the next vs game…

The only thing I ask for is this.

-No clone characters. That means no 2 Wolverines. No more laziness Capcom.

-Mega reduction of the cast. Personally, 30 characters is a good number. 15
Marvel and 15 Capcom. Even 40 wouldn’t be too bad.

-And on that note, replace a majority of the cast. There were waaaaaay too many
X-Men associated characters, and on Capcom’s side, equally as many Street
Fighter associated characters. The game is called MARVEL vs CAPCOM. Not
X-Men & Friends vs Street Fighter & Friends.

Honestly, with such enormous character libraries as Capcom & Marvel, the roster
for MvsC2 was disappointing. Here’s hoping that if a fighter were to appear, it
does NOT become like MvsC2 was again.

-Patches. Most likely this will be console only, and since a lot of games
nowadays, including fighters use patches to fix/balance/etc. issues in
the game, hopefully this’ll keep some of the issues from MvsC2 from being
repeated in the next game.

Mugen is made by everyday people, not people who know how to code games and balance them out. Plus when people their chars, they make that one specific char the godliest character in the game. Super Duper MotherFucking Awesome Shin Mech Akuma X Mega Ultra Fucker type characters are everywhere.

Honestly Marvel Nemesis Sucked ass

NO MORE SF characters that cannot COMPETE with the marvel characters. It would be Mvc2 all over again but probably worse. Capcom needs to throw people like Nero, Dante (especially after seeing how sick they are in DMC4), Darkstalker characters etc… The key is not to have marvel have like another 4 dominate characters which makes the game fun, but also REALLY BORING cause you can’t even enjoy using the capcom side or any other characters for that matter. aka MVC2.

Oh and no GUARD BREAKS! That crap makes the game interesting but also more BROKEN. Hmm what else… oh and if you have wolverine please give him something good like a HEALING FACTOR. Just don’t make it broken.

good idea! it will give capcom another opportunity to reuse the entire SF2 cast:sweat:

The only SF chars I’d want to see are Ryu/Gouki… MAYBE Dictator.

Fill the rest of the capcom side w/ darkstalkers/dmc/etc as Demon Hyo said.

They *are *preaching about “going back to their roots”…

So, nobody is going to comment on my MvC3 roster? I was hoping to read some suggestions from the SRK community.

I like it, for the most part. Pretty similar to what I was thinking.

Imo for marvel- add Deadpool + Carnage

Capcom- take out Maximo / Tessa, add Zero / Sigma / Gouki / Ryu from Breath of Fire.

I don’t think every game/series should have equal representation based on the title “Marvel vs Capcom”. I think the most popular characters should get priority over the She-Hulk’s, Tessa’s, Thing’s, ghost riders, etc. . .

I could understand your objection over Tessa’s inclusion, but how can you say that The Thing, She-Hulk, and Ghost Rider (it was made into a movie, for chrissakes!) aren’t popular?

Sigma would be a good candidate for the Marvel Villains spot. If I had to eliminate Tessa from the line-up, I would replace her with the equally-obscure Vanessa Z. Schneider from P.N.03 because she would be a fun character to animate in 2D. Any other Capcom females (besides Chun Li) that should be considered for the roster?

Deadpool would be an interesting addition as long as he doesn’t use guns. I’m not a fan of incorporating “gun” characters into a fighting game, which is why I did not list Punisher despite his popularity. Carnage is a good choice, but I feel that we have the symbiote characters covered with Venom.

No on Akuma. We already have a shoto-character with Ryu (who by the way, I think should be based on a post-Third Strike appearance with Oro moves so that he can better hang with the Marvel crew). Yes, Akuma is popular, but he’s similar to Ryu, and I feel that his spot would be better served with a character that plays differently from everyone else.

Not a fan of having two fighters with the same name in the same game (Ryu from Street Fighter, Ryu from Breath of Fire), but another Breath of Fire character could work. Zero would be a good alternative for Maximo, but you already have Mega Man X (and possibly Sigma) in there. Maybe an Onimusha guy or a Power Stone character could take his spot. I put Maximo on there because he’s a good representative of the Ghosts n’ Goblins universe.

Not that they aren’t popular(Ghost Rider bombed in comparison to the other Marvel movies, probably only above Electra, lol). I just don’t think they’re as popular as the X-men and SF characters especially for the FGC. So if I were making a roster I’d rather please the majority. Besides I can’t see Capcom pulling a SF3 again.

Ghost Rider bombed because it was a bad movie, but the character itself was still popular enough to be optioned into a major motion picture.

It was a crime that the previous Capcom Marvel fighting games didn’t have a Fantastic Four rep (licensing issues prevented Capcom from using them), and who better to represent the FF then good ol’ Ben Grimm?

As for She-Hulk, she fits two criteria: 1) I needed a Marvel female and 2) I needed a character who could fit into the fighting game environment. She is also not an obscure character, and currently has a popular ongoing series. She’s a major power player in the Marvel Universe.

When Marvel vs Capcom 1, came out, there were only two X-Men and three Street Fighters. Marvel vs Capcom 2 had a lot more X-Men and Street Fighter characters not because they were more popular, but because Capcom had a lot more assets from those series than other properties when they were making their fighting game jamboree.

I also remember people complaining about the cast of Capcom vs SNK 1, saying that there were too many Street Fighters and not enough characters from other Capcom games (it was nicknamed Street Fighter vs KOF). This is why I pushed for such a diverse cast in my listing. I certainly didn’t want a Marvel vs Street Fighter game. And it’s not like everyone in the Capcom cast is an unknown. You have several veterans from previous Vs. games, AND you have two characters (Dante + Viewtiful Joe) who would easily be on the top of wish lists for new fighters in a Vs. game.

I think the Marvel fans would appreciate being able to play as the entire Marvel universe and not just the X-Men (besides you have already have Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto in there). As for Capcom fans, I think being able to play as Dante, VJ, and a new Morrigan sprite would mask over any disappointment over Akuma not making the cut.

Tbh, I agree w/ you on Gouki. I was expecting you to shoot him down anyway

Imo, Ryu would be the best representation of BoF. It doesn’t make any sense to me to use any other single character.

Onimusha… hadn’t thought of it. Samanosuke would be interesting to see.

Deadpool could just use guns/tech weapons as specials. As long as there’s no ahvb-type nonsense, it’d work.

Female capcom char that can hang w/ the aforementioned chars… Myria/Deis from BoF?

Spiderman 3 was bad as well and it broke records. And really most Marvel movies suck.

Eh, but what would She-Hulk have over a character like Rogue, who is not only more popular, but has a lot more potential game play wise.

Why do you think there are a lot more X-Men and Sf assets, lol?

Yeah I’m pretty sure Capcom tried this method of thinking already by adding adding ChunLi and Akuma in SF3. 10 years later. . . yeah.

It’s better to keep the roster as original as possible and then add on. It’s unreasonable to expect them to make 50 character, but priority should be given to the popular ones that will bring players money. And then they add on who ever they want.

Eh, I complete disagree.

The difference here was that people were expecting it to be good since Parts 1 & 2 were good. By the time people realized that 3 wasn’t that great, it already made the hundreds of millions of dollars it earned. Plus, Ghost Rider wasn’t as hyped as Spider-Man 3.

She-Hulk could act as a faster Hulk. Rogue does have the ability to “steal” powers from other characters, but I wonder if that was ever really effective in X-Men vs Street Fighter and MvC2. And while the term popular is really subjective, I found this compiled, unscientific list of the most popular Marvel Comics characters. She-Hulk was ranked #25. Rogue was ranked #36. And before you counter with, “well according to the list, Phoenix and White Queen are ranked higher than She-Hulk,” realize that I excluded those characters from the MvC3 roster because they are more psychic characters than fighter characters. And I already had Storm in my list.

That being said, Ghost Rider is listed low on that list, so you have a case on replacing Ghost Rider with a “more popular” character if we were using that list as law. I’d go with the Human Torch if I had to replace Ghost Rider. Deadpool would be another candidate.

Because Capcom created more games with X-Men and SF characters than other characters. But by your logic, Capcom should have stacked the Marvel vs. Capcom cast with X-Men and Street Fighter characters since they were so popular. Yet Capcom didn’t, and that game made Capcom a lot of money.

I state my point again, the cast on the Capcom side is not as unknown as the cast of SF3 when they were first introduced. Capcom took a gamble with SF3 and only brought back two fighters, which alienated some fans who were looking for some old faces. But do you honestly think the fighting game fans are going to look at Dante, Joe, Mega Man X, Cap Commando, Morrigan, and Strider and say, “Who are these people?” Granted, there may be some question marks with characters like Tessa, Vanessa, and Maximo, but there are enough “popular” characters that the SF3 scenario will not repeat in MvC3.

First, unless the game engine completely blows, MvC3 is going to make Marvel and Capcom a lot of money regardless of who is on the roster. I really doubt that there are going to be people who will boycott this game because She-Hulk made the cut and Rogue didn’t.

Second, popular characters should be brought back in a sequel, but you can’t have a game where you have no room to add new fighters–one of the most exciting aspects of a new fighting game is playing as the new characters. And if you look at my list, half of the roster are returning veterans, and most of the new fighters are those that people requested to show up in a MvC sequel (Thing, Thor, Dante, Viewtiful Joe).

Now that we can agree on.
