Marvel nemesis 2 got rushed down. ROMed and then snapped out

I do not play MvC2 competitively but I always thought that one of the big appeals of the game is its “brokeness”. Let’s say Magneto get’s “perfectly balanced” wouldn’t he then become a very boring character? I sure as hell would love a balanced 3S but I see that as a different type of game.

lol. its like a running gag. capcom just keeps on making her sprite the same intentionally.

i gotta check out this rise of the imperfect game. i want to know how sucky it is.

its not worth the 2$ to rent it. dont bother

It isn’t even worth the bandwidth to download it.

I’m pretty sure if SFHD/SF4/SF Chun-Li movie all goes extremely well (I’m sorta hoping for that last one to go pretty good like the RE series) Capcom will freaking MILK street fighter as it comes back to life. So if all that goes good and all the Vs. Games can be re-released hashed or etc. I’m sure an MVC3 could turn up one day…though that’s like the wishful thinking I had with SF4.

the day we get mvc3 will be the day we get sf4.

wait a sec…

WIN

Epic thread title!!!

Hopefully we hear some more news soon.

Unfortunately there’s just no way you could do a 1080p sprite fighter with 3-man teams on the current gen consoles. Even STHD is having RAM capacity problems and they’re talking about using 720p sprites instead, and ST has terrible animation; can you imagine how much RAM six characters in 1080p would require? I dunno if it would even be possible in 720p…

If Marvel is smart they will keep the license non-exclusive and give Capcom a discount because Capcom makes Marvel look good. It’s really in their best interest for Capcom to make a Marvel game, Capcom captures the look and the personality of the characters very well and the Marvel brand gets associated with a quality product.

As far as HD, probably not going to happen. MVC2 has what, 50+ chars? It’s taking a long time to produce SF2 and that has 17 chars, most of which are smaller than Marvel sprites and have fewer frames of animation. The cost of redrawing all those sprites would be prohibitive.

The best you could hope for is that they use some algorithm to scale them up smoothly then apply some touchups. But even that probably wouldn’t happen.

This is very pleasing news, at least now EA can’t waste the licence…

Looking at Puzzle Fighter HD’s sprites, I’d take blown-up, pixellated monsters over Backbone’s attempts at touched-up scaling.

This was mentioned in the Game|Life blog.

Who is Marvel working with to make a future fighting game? Come back in 30 days, true believer!

You know what would be cool?

If Capcom also got the license for the Shonen characters. I mean they could get all the popular manga characters so they could essential make a game that puts North American Comic Book fans against Manga Fans.

Comic Book Nerds vs. Manga Nerds

One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Fist of the North Star

vs.

Spider-Man, X-Men, The Hulk, Iron Man, and the Fantastic Four.

Marvel vs. Shonen, BELIEVE IT!

This Thread = Cricket Noises from this post

The world is coming to an end, isn’t it? First SF4 and now this? :frowning:

Oh well. MVC3!!11one plays

This is what needs to happen, and seriously…

If you want a new marvel fighter by capcom or heck even namco at this point, By all fighters being released this year. SSBB, SF4, SF2HD, Sc4 and tekken 6. More so SF4 and SF2HD and SC4…Gotta show these company’s that fighters are alvie and there is a market for them. So the more of you that download sf2 on live, and sf2hd when it comes out, and the more reservations that are taken for fighters the more incline capcom will be to continue to make new ones.

So lets make this happen people!

Hmm… i dont know, this sounds too awesome, but i guess Sega is more interested in getting the licence.

Still better than EA, for sure.

That’s not crickets. That’s complete shock in the face of utter disbelief.

 Everybody’s laughing at me!

well, truthfully, ultimate alliance was damn good. the thing is, it took them 5 years worth of marvel licensed failures for them to create that.

^^^That was Activision not EA.
