MVP is some guy who has like the super soldier serum in his blood stream. It wasn’t injected though, he got it from his daddy and genetics.

So I recently bought Marvel Zombies, I’m sure this has been discussed in detail here. Ignoring all the Hot Topic hype and zombie fans point of views I delved into the book. Surprisingly, I found the story good, if a bit shallow.
Oddly the two creepiest parts to me didn’t really involve a lot of gore. One was when Pym was speaking to Black Panther, talking about if he ever did find a cure, how he would still eat human flesh and it scared him. It was genuinely freaky to me, since in every way this is the 616 version. What’s to say our Pym wouldn’t have the same craving?
Other part was when the symbiote died on Eddie Brock, he looked so…weird. Skinny, hollow. But Spidey’s cold hearted response is what did it. Not like him.
Overall I enjoyed it, but it was way, way overhyped. I plan to pick the Civil War one up, though I don’t know how that’ll work with most everyone dead.
Anyone else hear about Marvel’s new Digital Comics thing that went into effect this week? It’s a subscription based thing where you pay monthly to read a crap load of comics, and supposedly twenty comics would be added on a weekly basis.
I’d like to know if anyone has it, seems iffy to me but could be well worth it since I usually don’t have the time to comic shop.
Marvel’s DCU… “Digital Comics Unlimited.” Good one. I wonder if they did that on purpose to mess with DC Comics.
I haven’t tried it but I think I understand how it works. What I know I don’t like about it is that you can’t save any of the comics you read to your hard drive and (so far) you won’t be able to read new releases by using the service. It seems kind of expensive for what it is. Isn’t it either 10 bucks a month or 60 bucks for a year?
Even 10 bucks for a single month seems kind of expensive when you consider that it’s sort of like paying money to be able to go to a library. I guess Marvel wants to make money and prevent people from duping the scans. Marvel and DC have just started to take legal action against comics torrenters, so I guess they’re doing what they think they have to do to protect their business.

If it gets cheaper, I might try it out. Right now there isn’t a whole lot that I would want to read from there. Pretty much the only time I read comics on my computer are when there’s just no other way I can get my hands on physical copies for a reasonable price. I prefer holding the issue or the TRADE, BABY in my hands, anyway. I’m old-school like that. So old-school, in fact, that I propose that sano, our highly esteemed Shoryuken Comic Book Forum Moderator and King, should create an old-school forum where we communicate via written letters and carrier pigeons.
True, and honestly it doesn’t appeal to me half as much as a good TPB. I’m one of those I like to cozy up with a book, read it in my hands, not over a computer type of people. But like you said, price drop and I’d jump aboard.
I’m thinking about picking up The Last Iron Fist Story as my first Marvel TPB. The cover looks classy and stuff. So is it good?
Yup. It’s great, man. Brubaker and Matt Fraction. You can’t go wrong, baby.
It is Brubaker and Fraction plus crazy marital arts and pretty art. So it is superb even if you only knew the basics of Iron Fist before.

Mephisto wants to end the marraige, JQ wants to end the marraige, Mephisto = JQ. Dang Marvel’s crazy! Still wonder if that little girl was baby May that Norman Osborne might of stolen years ago or some Ulti Universe girl. Yeah still ready to drop all my Spidey books but I’ll keep an open mind. Good writing though. JQ’s pencils worked better for me this issue too.
Not enjoying One More Day. It seems like JMS is being forced to write the story for Joe Quesada. I mean… Mephisto? Seems way too forced.
X-men Messiah Complex is decent so far. I didn’t really enjoy the latest issue of X-men. Bacchalo’s style is a little too anime/cartoonish for me. Uncanny X-men, X-factor and New X-men issues were decent.
