He disbanded the old X-Force squad, the one with X-23 after Second Coming ended. Wolverine reformed the team in sercret. So Cyclops doesn’t know about the current X-Force squad.
Has anyone read the new Moon Knight?
Kaare Andrews Covers Marvel’s Ultimate Relaunch - Comic Book Resources
I’ll buy them all.
One thing I really wish the Ultimate universe would do is use properties that were unpopular within 616. For example, maybe an Ultimate Sleepwalker ongoing.
Last issue of X-23 was spectacular. Not heavy on action but great character studies on Wolverine’s current relationships with Jubilee and X-23. Liu took lame Vampire Jubilee and did something pretty cool with her. Sana Takeda’s pencils were amazing too. Hands down favorite Marvel book this week.
Uncanny X-Force, Amazing Spider-Man and X-Factor were all really good reads too.
What Black Panther comics would you recommend?
Read Priest’s run and that’s it.
Priest’s run is essential Black Panther reading. Jason Aaron’s brief “See Wakanda and Die” arc captures the Panther at his most iconic, as well. It’s been collected as Secret Invasion: Black Panther.
I’d skip everything else, unless you got some extra cash and wanna dig around back issue bins for classic Jungle Action issues.
They summed it very nicely
Doomwar is stupid, this “proving myself BP” by liss is stupid. “im paris hilton and lindsey lohan combined while im hating on storm for no reason” shuri by maberry is stupid.
Yes the jungle action issues are a solid read by Mcgregor. The art is top notch.
It’s about time they let Takeda pencil entire issues of this book.
As for Jubes, I’m not surprised that Liu can write her well. I mean, she tends to do well with characters that other writers can’t (best Gambit I’ve read in years).
Also, it’s interesting that she finally brings to light one thing that I’ve always found interesting. That unlike Logan’s past female “sidekicks” (Kitty, Jubilee), he never took X under his wing and seems to avoid her at times.
Thanks for the help guys. I’ll check it out once I get some money.
I had dreamed I was a member of the X-men this morning. Me, Xavier, Gambit, and one female I can’t think of right now were shrunken down into Wolverine’s miniature replica green house. Logan wasn’t aware of us until Gambit had clumsily dropped a lit card he was playing with. It blew up one of the windows at the top. Then Logan started to claw at us. Soon we found some other mini soldiers storm into the place with guns blazing. I had Nightcrawler and Shadowcat’s powers. I knocked a few soldiers out by teleporting punching them. As we made our way to the end kicking ass, somehow there were some civilians with us and we wondering how to get out. The door was locked and through the peep hole we found more soldiers waiting for us with their guns propped up. I took Xavier and one other girl and phased through the door. That’s all I can remember.
Eh I personally enjoyed Hudlin’s Black Panther run, but like what they said, Christopher Priest and the Secret Invasion BP story are great. The latter more so because it shows you just how badass and deadly BP/T’challa can be.
If anything, I’d say he out-Batmans Batman.
So stuff I’ve read recently-
New Avengers #12
]I really hope Hand isn’t betraying Steve, I was really starting to like he character more =([/spoiler
[details=Spoiler]
Alpha Flight 0.1 was great IMO and Ben Oliver and Dan Green’s art was beautiful. Looking forward to their new series X3
Amazing Spidey 661 was hilarious “Soooo who’s wants to go out on patrol?”
BTW how can they mess up in FF #3 and have ‘light years’ as a time frame? How can they make a mistake like that?
Ultimate Avengers vs. Ultimates #4 was great IMO
The part at the start was awesome, even when die-ing Spidey doesn’t want it to be all about him, and it’s prob. the one time I ever felt for Frank Castle.
Wish Fury wasn’t such a dick having Rhodes attack Cap who was still holding Spidey =_=
At any rate, I suspected it was Tony’s brother halfway through the issue[/details]
Looking forward to the new Ultimate books, they are hyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyype!
The upcoming X-Men Destiny game written by Mike Carey introduces a new character.
Not big news, just wanted an excuse to post in the new SRK is all.
BTW it looks like spoiler tags, even older ones are not working anymore. So yeah I guess anyone who doesn’t want comics spoiled for them should just stay away until they’ve read their weekly books for now.
my Thor Blood Oath and Thor Disassembled came in the mail today. I’m still waiting for my Stormbreaker trade to come in the mail.
If anyone watches A top of the 4th wall they put part 2 of ultimatum lol
What old Marvel character that’s been gone for a while do you think should be brought back?
I had stumbled upon White Tiger when I was randomly looking up characters on the wiki and from the summary of the story it sounded said. I would like to see him come back, but I know other people don’t like it when characters come back from the dead so…
Yeah I’m aware that his niece took on the name, but she sounds less interesting.
i havent read that and i wont at all. Ive received my recap in wiki and after seeing the image of wasp. I just cant take Loeb seriously
Or they could just post with the white color ;3
^ Yeah we could do that for the time being. Thanks.
So I just got around to reading serve and protect issue 3
I’m glad to see blink is back. But I don’t remember her in the 616 universe like at all…how did she die anyway? Was she a hellion?
Also it look like storm lifted thors hammer in a round about way. Asgardian storm ftw.
Fairly sure it’s a Slott story since he did what he could to get rid of Juggernaut and She-Hulk having sex that Chuck Sucks Austen wrote in Uncanny X-Men. I didn’t read all of Slott’s issues involved, but Slott threw that out as not being the real She-Hulk, but an alternate reality She-Hulk of sorts.
And yeah, Slott’s She-Hulk had lots of Deadpool style breaking-the-fourth-wall stuff too. PAD also used She-Hulk to break the fourth wall too in the past.
Funny, but this is one of the few things Austen did that I had no problem with. It was during the time Juggernaut was a hero and all. She-Hulk fans were pissed about it, saying that She-Hulk would never sleep with a former villain like Juggernaut. Again it didn’t bother me, but mostly because I care way more about Juggernaut than I do She-Hulk. It’s pretty much the only good thing that happened during the ‘Huggernaut’ era.
Austen can never be forgiven for what he did with Nightcrawler though. Half demon, really?
