Interesting, keep us updated on it Gouken, I’d like to see if it picks up at all or just kinda remains meh.
Not say9ing it’s bad just not interested. I love X-23 and was hoping this would be closer to the more chill times in New X-Men or NYX. Hopping right off the bat into that Wolverine in Hell story did it no favors.
Hope, Shuma does something coo before getting his azz banish via magical plot-devices.
That wasn’t meant unkindly toward you. Anything with crossover shit can make or break a comic, it was kinda ho-hum but I liked the art and the follow up story is pretty good.
Shuma should just snatch up Strange and be like “Lol, bye bitches.”
^lol yeah speaking of strange i’d wish marvel would do some serious work with him.
Same, I’m about to do a big run through of all his older titles, starting with the B&W reprints of his original series and going from there. He’s always been a character I have wanted to read about but never had the means to, so let’s see how it goes.
I just wish they had done some shit with him adn Voodoo
The best Dr. Strange I’ve ever read was The Oath by BKV and Marcos Martin. That one was really good. I also liked that Dr. Strange/Dr. Doom: Triumph and Torment OGN from the '80s by Roger Stern and Mignola.
I think that the magic characters are great to read. I just wished they established DV as Sorcerer supreme a bit longer.
I’m going to be picking up the most recent Taskmaster mini-series when it comes out in trade next month. I looked through the issues at the comic shop and I really, really like what I see. Great drama, great humor, some really good action, and a couple of really powerful moments: it’s everything I look for when I read a comic.
I was talking with one of my Taskmaster-obsessed fans (he’s been following the character since his debut in the early 80s), and he told me that while he was bored with the retcon on Tasky’s origin, he was happy that Marvel was at least paying attention to him. I didn’t know crap about Tasky aside from that Sue pwned him in Civil War up until I heard of this comic, and now he’s one of my faves. Once I get my hands on the trade and I can read it without the comic book guy telling me to buy it or get lost, I’ll write a full review.
A friend of mine keeps telling me to read that Taskmaster mini because it’s really good so I will probably pick up the TPB too since I missed all of the issues.
Newsarama.com : BENDIS & MALEEV MOON KNIGHT Teaser
I really hope Bendis doesn’t fuck up Moon Knight.
Oh by the way, Ultimate Thor was great. Hickman went back before Loeb inserted his shittiness into the Ultimate universe to retroactively flesh out Thor’s origin. He did it without mincing a single thing too. It all came together very nicely.
Finally, an Invaders preview.
Moon Knight is the type thing Bendis is good at so it’ll most likely end up pretty good.
I agree. Bendis usually excels with street level characters, so I have a hard time believing he’ll fuck up Moon Knight. Unless, of course, he starts killing off people or ignoring established continuity.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be picking up Moon Knight even though it’s being done by Bendis / Maleev (such an amazing team).
Bendis and Maleev on Moon Knight sounds kick ass. Moon Knight’s kinda sucked ever since Huston finished his run. Who was the dude after him? Mike Benson? That guy was terrible.
Yea, It’s pretty good and I read the Udon one but the newest one is way better.
Is the Namor book ne good? Moonight had a book prior to this new one?
Agreed, the Taskmaster book was great. One of my favorite reads recently. Also like Psycho’s friend I was really happy that he’s getting attention from Marvel, even with the retcon.
Namor book isn’t terrible, but between the deep sea vampires and sending him to hell/desert the writer is really slacking. Art is at least good imo.
I honestly enjoyed his brief spots in the last couple Fantastic Four issues more though. Him getting pissed off at Sue for turning her back on him, grabbing her arm, then getting smacked to the ground… Then he gets all turned on by her display of power lol. I was thoroughly amused.
I read up on MoonKnight and he’s pretty crazy, but he can never see Batman
What does that even mean.
It doesn’t mean anything. Especially because over time Batman has actually become more like Moon Knight.
Everybody get mad.
Anyway, I’m worried about Bendis messing up Moon Knight because when talking about what he’s going to do he said he’s essentially going to throw everything out the window. If he does that we’ll miss out on that wonderful Bendis speak between Spector’s multiple personalities.
He did do an Ultimate version of Moon Knight by the way. Speaking of Ultimate, I’m really scared of this Death of Spider-Man stuff. I adore USM and really don’t want anything to happen to Peter.
