DnA on Thor!!!
Hickman is going to be writing Ultimate Thor as well.
what?! Tell me more!
Oh my effin days, you have got to be kidding me-
Well at least it isn’t Loeb?
I know this is the marvel thread… ANd i hate dc as much as the next man
But the latest DC online trailer is so full of win, I wish marvel would have such epic animated stuff.
Pretty epic man, pretty epic.
seriously who do you trust lol, maybe they mean whose side are you on. Did the marvel or DC panel already happen. I saw some Mattel/DC panel, did DC decide to just merge there panel? I liked the great ten comic from dc. the ending was done well. I wouldn’t put it at the top of my list of great comics but something interesting to pass the time. Does anyone think that all the marvel films are eventually going to be a silver screen copy of the ultimate marvel universe? I started reading batman beyond and so far it is decent. How is the heroic age? Could anyone recommend a good DC comic right now besides brightest day. I like the art on azrael, is that comic any good? Before I forget is DC losing all the rights to superman or just the film rights? I would hate to see superman anywhere else. Anybody think captain marvel [billy batson] could take superman’s place if they lose superman. Batson did beat superman in comics sold back in the early days of comics. Sano did you go to comic con? Anybody that got to go, you lucky bastard have fun.
Edited out due to warning
I didn’t go to the San Diego Comic-Con. I’ll be at the NY Comic-con in October.
Please bring up DC questions in the DC thread…
Marvel and DC have panels every day at cons and no matter which one you go to you can always ask them questions about anything. So some panels are done and some are coming up. Most of the big announcements are probably out of the way though.
Marvel’s biggest comic book related announcement was that they will put out some new CrossGen comics.
A lot of Marvel films have always been influenced by both 616 and the Ultimate-verse. Of course the Ultimate-verse is influenced by 616 naturally. Well if you want you can say all films address the same question Ultimate comics do, what would the Marvel characters be like if they gained their powers in 20XX / today instead of the the '60s. Well Cap’s movie will be set in the '40s but Avengers won’t of course.
Heroic Age is just a stamp they put on books, like they did with Dark Reign. It’s not really an event per se. It’s there to say the good guys are running things again. Just continue to buy whatever Marvel comics you want to read and ignore the Heroic Age thing on the covers.
On Capcom’s stream of the San Diego Comic-Con they confirmed that they will bring MVC3 to NYCC and it will have Thor and Amaterasu playable! :clapdos: I asked Niitsuma to please have Spider-Man playable for us by then since come on Spider-Man IS NYC to me lol! They said it’s taken under consideration. And yeah that’s not a confirmation that Spidey’s in the game, but c’mon he has to be in there…
Capcom / MVC3 are going to Pax next!
Sano in the NYC comic-con will some Capcom devs be there?
Niitsuma is going. S-Kill’s too. Haven’t heard anything about Ono. There will be another Street Fighter Club event in NY later that month in October.
JGONZO on the stream said that Nolan North is providing Deapdool’s voice in MVC3. Most of us knew that already LOL but the MVC3 Voice Producer (the actual name of his title escapes me) was there and they are not allowed to reveal any of the Marvel’s MVC3 voice actors. So this is as close to a semi confirmation as you can get on one of the voices… :wonder:
The producer said Marvel came up with a list of which actors should voice which Marvel characters in MVC3 and most of the time they were able to get their first choice.
Regarding bringing back the older voice actors the thing was that a lot of them are located in Canada (which is true, minus Storm’s VA who is in LA the entire cast of the '90s X-Men cartoon is located in Canada) and they wanted the cast to be closer to home (United States) this time around.
There will be no Japanese voices for any of the Marvel characters. At least for the version we are getting. That is up to Japan (of course if they do it I don’t see a reason why we can’t get them too but that’s speculation on my part). Capcom characters do have Japanese variants, I really don’t know if we will be able to switch for them but we probably will.
I will probably play the entire game in English all the way through. At least at first. There’s a lot of injokes when they call out their partners’ names that I don’t want to miss. Iron Man calls Amaterasu a tiger HA HA!
Soooo any chance you could ask them some questions about their upcoming games among other things? (I lack the funds to go there myself…)
Of course! Just PM me any questions in and around October. That goes for anybody.
Oh yeah the MVC3 Voice producer guy did they did get a few Hollywood celebrities to voice some of the characters in MVC 3. I guess that’s why they are staying mum about everything. Interesting!
I apologize for my mistake, I haven’t been in a comic book forum in awhile, so i naturally forgot what the hell I was doing. Thanks for reminding me and thanks for answering my question. Did you never go to SDCC or you just dont go now? Does anyone think it is getting to commercialized and losing it original essence? Also I heard they are going to move it to LA any truth to that?
I’ve never been to SDCC. I live in NYC so it’s really far from me and we do have NYCC. Their show is bigger than ours no question, but our show is good too I think. I haven’t been to both shows so I honestly can’t compare what’s better or worse. They seem similar enough I guess. I would like to go to SDCC one of these years.
SDCC is crazy large and completely, idiotically packed all days there now.
So much so that a lot of companies would hold off on some announcements until Chicago. (not anymore now that WW is pretty much blacklisted)
I originally went back in 2004 and you could still move around the first few days. Preview night was also for pros/exibs only, so it was dead.
It’s always had a large Hollywood presence. Larger every year.
Artist’s alley has shrank every year too, it seems. (I’ll find out more when people get back)
I didn’t go this year because it’s so expensive to fly out there + hotel/food/etc and it’s just too busy.
NYCC is almost entirely comics. It’s smaller, but I think it’s better. The 10-1 time on Friday for creators/exibs to go around and mingle is a great thing and complete contrast to SDCC’s non-stop pace. I know people who have literally been in the same isle and never saw one another because they were stuck behind their booth from open to close.
NYC is more fun to run around too. The entire city doesn’t stop when the con happens like in SD and prices don’t skyrocket. You can also find hotels without having to book them almost a year in advance.
Anyobdy have footage of the thor trailer, captain america and avengers teaser? If you saw it was it good?
found this audio for the thor trailer
went on friday. first time going it was just an awesome experience. played marvel vs capcom 3 a few times. there was one dude who smelled really bad when i was playing against him in the tournament. i did see marn and jwong there. i only purchased the hasbro 19" galactus figure, a tokidoki thor shirt, and a might mugg of prowl for my friend. rest of the stuff i got was free. i did take this silly pic of comic book guy fan with joe q in the background
LOL nice!
The rumor of Amazing Spider-Man going bimonthly and Slott being the only writer turned out to be true. That will start in Novermber.
They should announce that Joe Q shall be forever banned from writing or thinking about anything Spider-Man related, ever. What else has Slott written that I would know? His name sounds familiar, but I’ve just had Geoff Johns on the mind lately.
He wrote several issues of She Hulk before it got cancelled AGAIN & they were good
