Marvel Comics Thread

They figure out who Red Hulk is yet? I still stand by my original sentiment that it’s a Talbot. Also when the hell did Betty come back? Fucking comics and resurrections.

Rulk is Ross. Betty is back, she’s She-Rulk.

I hated that so-called twist it was fairly obvious from the beginning that Ross was Rulk don’t care much for the Betty as She rulk angle. I dropped all hulk titles at the end of Fall of the Hulks. hulked out heroes did that series in for me I went strickly second coming after that

Ross? That seems like a cop-out, doesn’t even look like him or make to much sense. But then again that whole comic line really stopped making sense when they decided to dumb down Hulk yet again and get rid of the brilliant Planet Hulk characterization.

Namora getting a one shot this week. I’m getting it. It is written by Jeff Parker after all. It’s funny how under normal circumstances I wouldn’t give a shit about this character but Atlas is just too awesome to ignore.

On a somewhat related topic, I have one gripe about Thanos Imperative. Why was Namorita still with Rich? I just don’t feel she’s suited for cosmic stuff but that can be said of Jack too and he’s doing great. It’s just that Nova even traveled to Earth so she could have been left in it’s “safety.” Especially considering how much Namora misses her, there should be some reuniting there.

I don’t know. She was just there to be snatched up by Captain Pentagram, damsel in distress style.

Red Hulk is awful but aside from the moustache disappearing when he transforms, his alternate identity being General Ross makes sense apparently. Readers had long figured out it was him. Surprisingly, Loeb had the presence of mind to leave clues as to who it was.

EDIT: Also, props to Marjorie Liu for Dark Wolverine. Lasts week issue was great. Daken’s romp through Rome having chance meetings with people who are an allegory of his own actions within life. She’s the sole reason this character was redeemed.

I knew who She Rulk was based off of her mannerisms. When Bruce Banner was mentioned her demeanor entirely changed

Really not liking JQ’s pencils on these pages.

Really? I thought the coloring was what ruined them. I love the angles and expressions he pulled off.

the person did an excellent job to figure it out but honestly it is still trash  im glad it is over

Just not liking the way Peter and MJ look in those pages mainly. On that second page MJ’s face looks busted to me. I did like the way the way Pete and MJ were drawn in OMD by comparison.

JQ’s backgrounds are always nice. I dunno, I still prefer that zany style he used back when he was drawing X-Factor way back compared to the stuff he does now. Not that it’s a style that would fit this Spider-Man story though.

Mainly assuming that it’s JQ’s pencils. Not really sure what he’s doing or what Rivera’s doing since they both share art duties.

A Morrison book that is new reader friendly? :looney: Sorry man that doesn’t compute for me.

Cosign, if you liked Ennis’ Punisher, just keep on reading the new MAX title by Jason Aaron, it’s a good successor to Ennis’ run.

Nah Greg Pak’s Hulk stuff has been fun since he took the reigns of Incredible Hulk:rock:

Pak on Hulk could make it all redeemable, even if it’s still just going to be hot garbage. At least my Talbot guess waaaay back was somewhat close, I just never figured they would give Ross that kind of character boost.

Tizoc - I accidentally edited your post when I tried to quote you… I was able to restore your original post though. Ack SORRY…

LOL by ‘New Reader Friendly’ I mean you don’t have to read 1,000 issues of X-Men (or any other issues of X-Men really) to understand the book. It stands on its own.

Yes Morrison is usually really hard to understand just because of the way writes but it’s not for continuity reasons, it’s just how he does things. Even so New X-Men is one of the easiest Morrison books to understand.

I still have no freaking clue what Final Crisis was about…

And yeah I got both the Rulk (last week) and She-Rulk (last month) reveals in Incredible Hulk without ever having to read an issue of Rulk. GO PAK!

Those pages are Joe, for sure. (at least it’s not his ‘Frank Miller’ style)
I think a couple faces are slightly off but I also think that having a colorist that didn’t flatten everything out would have helped tremendously.
What made me go “huh”? was that he used the same brick pathing on the interior that he used on the Jessica Jones/Luke Cage pages he did way back… i don’t think every apartment in NYC has that…

Just read New Mutants, freakin great issue!

sssssh…

I get filled with massive rage when I think about how we WONT GET the animated version of AOA, fucking Disney…

This and the DLC debacle with MUA 2 have me in perma salt mode to this day.

Cool on that I’d agree.

Hmm I’d say Animalman is much easier, but yeah having reread his X-Men run it is easy to understand on the get go for the most part.

Oh it’s easy really;
Darkseid is resurrected in Dan Turpin’s body and he and his minions (whom have been resurrected or possessed humans/aliens) begin their conquest of Earth using the AntiLife Equation. Those that remain unaffected by the AntiLife Equation band together to combat the threat but with little effort.
Eventually Dr. Sivannah, having found out that the tech used to spread the AntiLife Equation is based on the Mad Hatter’s design, he succeeds in stopping it’s spread.
At that time, Batman does his preptime and shoots Darkseid with a god killing bullet which while didn’t outright kill Darkseid, weakened him and allowed the Black Rider to claim his soul or whatever
Meanwhile Superman and friends had gathered the Supermen of the many other parallel Earths in order to stop Darkseid’s plot since his conquest of Earth is affecting the other parallel Earths.
There’s also something about an Undead Vampire Monitor who is pissed or some shit, and may have actually been manipulating stuff behind the scenes and recruited Ultraman (whose outfit looks like a lame pajama) to achieve his goal.
Also, Hypertime.
That wasn’t so hard was it =)

Speaking of Morrison and Marvel; has anyone read his Skrull Kill Krew mini?

no new seasons wolverine and the x-men and spectacular spider-man = massive fail

as for the mua 2 dlc i got it when it came out. wasn’t it activisions fault for not renewing it? raven should have done the game but they were too busy with x-men origins wolverine (awesome game btw)

amazing spider-man this week is awesome.

Loved Avengers yesterday!

Avengers #2
