Marvel Comics Thread

I don’t see what the huge deal is over this.
Trust me, most retailers would LOVE the chance to unload their unsold 3-month old gimmick issues to get a variant they could actually recoup the losses with.

There’s a difference between strength and power.

Wait a Deadpool variant? …

Good thing hulk isn’t lacking in either area.

lol im going tonight.

Cool man let us know how it is.

Different post;Same guy. Sorry for the confusion. I meant to ask if you know of any good Thor vs anyone and Magneto vs anyone fights. Sorry for the mixup and thanks for your time!

Okay I got you. I’m probably not the best person to ask about Thor. Maybe whenever Darksoul173 pops up he can give you a better answer than I ever could. Mags will come up whenever I go through the Uncanny stuff. Probably a short while from now since I have to hang out and wait for the Planet Hulk online goodies anyway.

Doom’s in Incredible Hulk #606! Can’t wait!

All right. That amazon thing… Is it a DVD movie type thing or is it a DVD with pictures on it, and can it be played on my PS3 properly?

It’s a DVD-Rom. Which is basically is like a DVD with pictures. It won’t work on your PS3. You need something that can run Adobe Reader. Pretty much every new PC nowadays can run Adobe Reader out the box.

Another option is Marvel’s Digital Comic Universe where you can read lots of stuff online. It won’t let you save anything or print anything out, it’s basically like going to a library. If you sign up it costs about 60 dollars for the whole year or five dollars a month. You can also pay 10 bucks for one month and back out of it when you want. I know they’ve had free trials for a while but I’m not sure if they are still running those.

Other than that, a lot of Uncanny X-Men books are in one TPB or another. Sometimes you just have to find the right books. It may take a bit of leg work but a lot of stories you can find if you dig around.

Then of course there’s comic book conventions. At some of the bigger ones you can find almost everything you are looking for at reasonable prices.

Here’s the link for the Planet Hulk online goodies. Starts in a half hour! :cybot:

so according to Bendis the “void” was the spirit of death in the bible? ROFL:tdown::wtf: Man at times im just lost from his stuff. So now we are in part 6 of the Nick Fury Silent Disassembled Home Invasion Dark Seige. (needs some work )

Planet Show NY Show is all done. The LA one will start in an hour and 20 minutes from now.

Be warned that the NY one has a lot of spoilers regarding the Planet Hulk cartoon. They marked the first time “spoiler” but later on didn’t bother. Don’t mind myself.

Viekuri - Some favorite Magneto reads. Passing over stuff mentioned already like Magneto Testament and Morrison’s New X-Men. Also Fatal Attractions since you’re already reading that.

Uncanny X-Men #17 and #18 - Actually it wasn’t called “Uncanny” back in the '60s but you get the idea, it’s the main book. This is an oldie but a goodie. Magneto owns all of the X-Men except for Iceman who is laid up in the hospital. He takes over the X-Mansion. When Angel’s parents show up to visit the school he says the classic line, “Men call me Magneto.” A must read for any Magneto fan! If you want to know how Iceman wound up in the hospital, check the two previous issues, #15 and #16 for the origin of the Sentinels and Mastermold!

Uncanny X-Men #150 - This was already mentioned but this is great! It says it right there on the cover, the X-Men vs. Magneto! This is where Magneto sinks the Leningrad submarine which comes up in Lee and Claremont’s X-Men 1, 2 and 3 and in X-Men #200. Still his biggest slaughter of human lives. An excellent fight with Magneto featuring his, say it with me now in your best Magneto MVC2 voice, FORCE FIELD! He has an island smasher and can cause Earthquakes and volcanoes ANYWHERE in the world! A satisfying conclusion too. Classic!

Uncanny X-Men #200 - THE TRIAL OF MAGNETO. 'Nuff said.

X-Men 1, 2 and 3 by Claremont and Lee - Big time Magneto fight and he gets the X-Men to fight themselves too. Great Jim Lee art too! If you’re a fan of the Capcom Marvel games, X-Men Children of the Atom and X-Men Mutant Apocalypse are kind of like a hybrid of these 3 issues and X-Men Fatal Attractions. So if you’ve read these stories you’ll know most of the stuff those games are referencing.

X-Men The Twelve and Age of Apocalypse - Not primarily Magneto stories per se but Magneto kicks a lot butt in both. Worth checking out!

Yeah it’s tough for me to recall some issue numbers and what series’ some events take place like when he killed The Neo, when he killed the person who forged the name Erik Lensherr (thank goodness for Magneto Testament so I can stop telling people that is NOT his name. That name was actually part of a STUPID plot to make Magneto a Gypsy because someone had a problem with Magneto being Jewish, for reals…) or when he went to the Jewish ceremony with Kitty Pride. And Fatal Attractions has some really good Mags power moments too.

You may or may not, not sure want to check out some of the Joseph stories where there was a Magneto clone called Joseph. It’s a nice theoritical view of what a young Magneto would be like if the X-Men found him early. He almost had a romance going with Rogue too. Not the biggest fan of the story, not the biggest hater but looking back it’s kind of interesting in retrospect. Joseph didn’t last very long…

For overall Magneto Vs., well he mostly fights the X-Men and X-Men related characters really. There’s some times he crosses paths with Avengers and Spider-Man has fought everyone but I don’t think any of those stories are very memorable or worth looking into to be honest. Marvel more or less keeps him restricted to the X-Books (nowadays especially) because his agenda usually only conflicts with X-Characters. Unlike say someone like Doom who crosses paths with everyone.

Thanks for the names, appreciate it a lot. Finished reading some What if’s and God Loves, Man Kills. Started to read the Magneto War. On the last part of that one. Seems pretty good. Going to look for the ones while Joseph was in the X-men.

Sure thing!

The LA Planet Hulk panel should start soon.

Couldn’t disagree more.
