Oh my god. X-Men Necrosha is such a blatant rip-off of Blackest Night that it isn’t even funny. How in the world were the people at Marvel thinking when making this story?
I think Richard Corben’s (and Brian Azzarello…?) Banner miniseries was my favourite Hulk story ever. No real new concepts, just a good story. And the art! Great fit. And I think Future Imperfect is my second favourite, which was really kind of the same idea as Hulk: The End. Hulk with a beard…GENIUS!
Do Hulk and Punisher have the only non-shitty The End stories…? The rest were all really lame.
Planet Hulk was still pretty entertaining to me, just because all these Hulk stories lately had just kind of blurred together for me, and seeing him in a new setting with new characters or anything different at all was better than the status quo.
Although I wouldn’t say it was like the greatest idea of all time - Hulk becoming the champion of an alien world is hardly a completely new concept. And it’s true, every story just boiled down to Hulk outmuscling and smashing every baddie that went up against him.
But I liked the basic idea of World War Hulk too, which made sense to me - how hard would it be to screw up a mass free for all with Hulk vs. EVERYONE? It’s a very simple, Michael Bay action movie type of concept, some solid JR^2 art in there, and it’s impossible to screw it up. And yet…they screwed it up.
Who would have thought that the ending of World War Hulk would be “the Sentry hits him so hard he turns to Bruce Banner again?” I swear to God, the Sentry is the most useless and boring comic book character ever created - he has never added anything positive to any comic he’s ever appeared in, ever. What a shitty character.
Of the ones I read yeah, those were the only two good ones. X-Men The End blew - Claremont kept it going for like 2 freaking years what the… - And so did Wolverine The End. Which didn’t even End! Old Man Logan made a much better ‘The End’ type of story for Wolverine to me.
Went by the book store the other night and they had some comics on sale in good condition so I picked some up (Uncanny X-Men), a quick question, should I bother trying to get the entire series? Is it possible/probably whatsoever?
Impossible unless you’re rich. Get the DVD-Rom instead to own the bulk of it. So long as your PC can play DVD-Roms you’re good.
Is there a website that sells slightly older single issues, for example Captain America #49 and on. Dont want to wait for paperbacks to come out.
You should try Comic Book Supermarket. Just checked and they have Captain America #49.
thanks Sano, you’re awesome
Marvel comics on your iPhone. Kinda cool. I wont be buying them though.
That’s a pretty cool way to read Lee/Ditko on ASM if you haven’t already at least.
Has anyone been reading the Spider-Woman Motion Comic by Bendis? I tried but tuned out after about 30 seconds. I have a really hard time sitting through Motion Comics…
Brubaker talks about Captain America Reborn and the possibility of there being more than one Captain America when all is said and done.
ya METAL GLOVES SON, WHO NEEDS CLAWS
Daken has little baby claw cuts on him.
Whats up with the metal gloves?
Psylocke #1 was pretty cool. Harvey Tolibao did a great job on the pencils. Psylocke looked really HOTTT in every drawing! :lovin:
And Captain America Reborn, DAAAAAAAAAMN… :wow:
C.A.R.
Spoiler
Red Skull is wearing Steve Rogers’ body! MWUAHAHAHAHA! :badboy:
Really? I thought the art was the worst thing about it. Between him and the guy currently on Dark Wolverine I have to question Marvel’s talent hiring practices.
^I guess it’s a matter of taste.
I thought the artwork is cool. It reminded me of the 90’s when comics were cool.
