Civil War Punisher wasn’t too bad. Though i already knew he wasn’t gonna have much of a participation in a big battle plus it was funny seeing the heroes reaction to Cap using Punisher for missions and then Cap beating the shit out of him for killing two bad guys.

Early 90’s Image was the absolute pinnacle in quality glove/boot styles (yes, even beating out early 80’s George Perez) - this is acknowledged.

Also, 616 Punisher has those white tube things that form the teeth of the skull in his uniform. I don’t know what they are exactly, probably some sort of loose change dispenser like what an ice-cream man would have.

Not sure the exact issue but Punisher kicking Wolverine’s ass happened no less then twice in the Marvel Knights series.
New Iron Fist was the bomb, son! This comic has had a great line of artists on it too, love this book.

Since Joe Quesada has a no-smoking editorial mandate in Marvel comics, this actually doesn’t sound too far from the truth. I can’t wait till Quesada’s kid becomes Editor-in-Chief and bans all marvel characters from eating because his dad died from obesity, though.

Should the Ultimate universe be avoided?
I only started a comic collection 3 years ago and the attraction of the ultimate universe was that it catered for newbies like me who had no clue where to start. Whilst I have purchased nearly all of the Ultimate universe TPBS and Hardcovers with the exception of Ultimate Fantastic Four I have been told that the Ultimate universe is going down hill and perhaps should be avoided. I know Ultimate X-men and Ultimate Fantastic Four are being cancelled but is the ultimate universe that bad? I confess that although I have lots of comics from the ultimate universe I have yet to read one page of them so do not yet know what their quality is like. I plan to still collect them for completeness and intend to start reading them sometime this year but once Ultimate X-men has been cancelled should I simply ignore the ultimate universe with the exception of Ultimate Spiderman which I believe is still going strong.
I know the recent Ultimatum story will have a significant affect and should also be collected but I am guessing that after Ultimatum then perhaps I should focus on the 616 normal Marvel Universe. If so any recommendations? I have started to collect the New Avengers and Planet Hulk but that is about it.
Some Ultimate series are good, and I don’t like the Ultimate universe much.
UF4 had some decent stories, Ultimate Spiderman is really good I hear and Ultimates 1 & 2 are great.
Avoid Ultimates 3 like the plague though.
Hi guys, first post here. Just finished the Spidey “New ways to die” 6 parter. Thought it was a good story which opens up a few new branches and Anti-venom looks like he could be a good character.
Yeah Slott will write Anti-Venom again in the next Spider-Man Extra issue.
