Speaking of which I hope you’re not satisfied with the way Hulk is right now. I personally didn’t find Hulk to ‘uber smart’ but he could think up some good strategies.
If anything, Loeb’s Rulk stuff takes place in its own universe, Earth 0.

Loeb either has lost his inhibitions when it comes to stories or he is and possibily has always been on some old school Stan Lee shit, letting his artists control a majority of the story and just writing in words later. Either way, dude killed the Ultimate universe for me, although I am still checking out the current Ultimate Spidey arc.

I agree with your entire post but this. I did not like WWH at all. Characterization was a complete and total mess. Now PLANET Hulk, which it sounds like you were actually referencing, was fine in my book, but I consider the two VERY separate entities.
Still, I would take WWH over Loeb’s current Hulk run any day. I swear the man is a Skrull.
Planet Hulk was all kinds of awesome and made me like Hulk a lot.
It really bums me that we have to sit through this garbage version of the Hulk. I mean after years of great hulk stories. We had those great psycholigical stories from peter david, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, Pretty much the entire Hulk vol.2 was amazing. I mean damn, Hulk doesn’t have to always smash something. I’m sick of this lifeless crap Loeb is putting out there.
People at the comic shop I work out ask me when I complain “What more do you want from a hulk book? He smashes and fights”. After all the great hulk stories of yesteryear I expect a lot more.
