Marvel Comics sucked hord in 2007

Thank you for your post. We’ll agree to disagree. I’ll assume that you were joking about the Spider-Man loves Mary Jane reference though because only a girly man would read that comic.

And only kids read Marvel Adventures, right?

That comic is not only awesome, but will be written by Terry Moore, and drawn by one of the best artists working today in Adrian Alphona, who is RE-TEAMING with Runaways colorist and all around hottie Christina Strain. :lovin:

There’s nothing about this I don’t like.

Hey now Spidey Loves MJ rules man I’ve seen Mckeever turn some of the manliest men around! Teenage Firestar dating Spidey man what’s not to love! :lovin:

I think I like most of the things mentioned here but by far the worst Marvel event for me in '07 was Loeb ruining and killing Sabretooth. Why Loeb, why?

Spider-Man loves Mary Jane: Strong enough for a man but made for a woman.

LOL you got jokes!

No way, bub. Worst was Ultimates 3. At least Loeb’s shitty Wolverine arc had GOOD artwork.

Well, either that was the worst, or Daniel Way’s consistently shitty Origins series. His Ghost Rider might be that damn bad, too - but to be fair, I never even gave it a chance.

Damn you, I totally forgot about that literary abortion…
Oh well, denial is the best way to deal with this. I’ll just keep pretending he’s still “MIA” after Mike Carey’s awesome X-Men arc.

I like traditional superhero comics when they are good.

Captain America, Daredevil, Carey’s X Men, and Astonishing X Men ( when it actually comes out ) were all great in 2007.

It’s just they aren’t very good all that often anymore.

I never said that there weren’t anymore good mainstream comics, I basically said “Crossovers are for suckers”.

Moon Knight was also very good.

Besides, who here actually doesn’t like Fables? If you say you don’t, you are either a. retarded or b. obviously lying.

the big event stuff rather sucked but they published some great reads over the year if you ask me.

i love spiderman loves maryjane.

Well Astonishing X-men still has 1 more issue to go before it finishes it’s breakworld arc.

As far as Wolverine/new excalibur, I dunno, but I think having Uncanny x-men, new x-men, x-men and x-factor is more then enough since they can basically release a new chapter each week of the month.

Still though, I’m not really feeling Messiah Complex. Especially after reading the awesomeness that was The Sinestro Corps War.

So I wikipedia’ed the Messiah Complex.

I dont’ get it. so ther is a new mutant baby…what they don’t htink there will be more? Several people ahve died…for ONE baby ?_? am I missing something, like does the baby have like really crucial powers or some shit? So far so weak.

If Marvel wants me to spend money on thier comics…

  1. I’m going to need for Wolverine to fucking die. They’ve milked his punk ass for too long. He’s a stupid character who only gets credit because of him being the original “healer” and having the pseudo bad guy vibe going on.
  2. More She-Hulk…
  3. Bring back Death’s Head 2 and Marvel UK
  4. Make villains seem more relvant. A hero is only as good as his villains…
  • :bluu:

the mutant race is near extinction after the whole house of M “no more mutants” thing. and it was believed that there could be no more new mutants.

so it’s a pretty big deal.

IIRC, the mutant baby is supposed to be one of the most powerful mutants ever. Ridiculous spark on Cerebra.

more powerful than franklin?

wasnt the guardian was supposed to be some collective form of 50 mutants? the fucked part about the mutant thing is that there is a possibility that her kids are alive anyway which meant there was no need for house of m. (wiccan)

Marvel was average in my opinion in 2007, Iron Fist was the breakout series closely followed by Astonishing and Cap. Criminal was also sick. and Carey’s X-Men is a fun read.

I feel the Ultimate universe is totally useless at this point, as 616 is pouring in better stories anyways. I think only Ulimate Spidey’s alright. And Ultimate Power is GARBAGE (Greg’s art is still amazing, though). Ultimates 3 is pretty bad too as mentioned previously.

Thor started very strong, though its dragging a bit. X-Factor was very good, and i for one am enjoying Messiah Complex (comon Sinister’s back!) WWH was a major disappointment in my book. I was enjoying Planet Hulk and was expecting bigger consequences than a bug being squashed (comon)

Daniel Way needs to be erased from existence.

No idea, but franklin richards is far from the most powerful mutant.

The guardian was a mutant who absorbs energy. he had the power of every mutant who lost their powers when wanda cast her spell.

The baby is important because no mutant baby has been born since House of M. It looked as though Wanda had wiped the “mutant gene” from existence. The baby is the last chance for mutantkind to bounce back after HoM. The X-men want to protect it, Sinister wants to experiment on it, the Purifiers want to kill it. Really, the baby is the least interesting part of the story though. The future story with Layla and Jamie is where it’s at. INSANE plot twists, without feeling trite. People hating Messiah Complex are LOOKING for something to hate. Yeah, X-Factor was quite different and good before, but it makes sense that the group would consolidate with the X-Men over something this big.

i see where you are going and one will have to see. Im going to get all of the books once the last chapter comes in or did it already?
