Marvel Comics sucked hord in 2007

Did you read X-Factor before Messiah Complex?

I dont know i just thought that clint barton (hawkeye) was going to be him. I did read the death of Cap Am books but i guess so and we will see.

Exactly I was saying that since day one. How the Hell Ms Marvel of all people get her ass kicked like that. I thought she would have at least did some damage. Shit storm is an omega level if she can knock a herald of galactus why the fuck she cant knock the warbound down!

You and i already know they are going to screw this one up somehow and watch i have a feeling that mary jane will be a skrull zing
im in the same boat. I got back into the game of comics in 05 by picking up Black Panther # 11 and kept it going since then but i have been disappointed with some of the choices marvel is making.
[]Avengers Initiative- is a solid read
[
]Black Panther- is a solid read and at least kept the continuity going
[]Thunderbolts- is a great read
[
]Sub-Mariner -was great and they should of kept this one going
[]Iron-Man- they are running him around all over the place i know that he is director and but jeez
[
]AMS- everyone sums it up
[]WWH- well it had its ups and down but it was solid
[
]Thor- Great read so far for me
what did happen? it almost as if they completely changed everythinig.

That’s sad as a recent scientific research proved that comic book readers who do not read the exploits of a cute, red and black dressed, old sweet lady imprisoning, 500% weapons-more-than-Terminator carrying, 4th wall breaking merc are doomed to suffer zero sexual stimulations…sad but true.

X-Factor was more about investigations and helping out what few mutants that were left. It wasn’t really an action-packed comic. That just wasn’t it’s style which is fine by me. Ultimately I think the comic appeals to a different audience.

An audience who have to be ticked off about the past couple of issues have changed that dramatically because they are part of a crossover being Messiah Complex.

Instead of X-Factor it’s as if the comic became X-Men (and Wolverine of course) with a couple of the X-Factor characters sprinkled in. That’s just not right. I’m sure that it’ll go back to normal eventually but for the next month at least the members of X-Factor Investigations are guests in their own comic.

Considering the scope of Messiah Complex, X-factor was gonna be called in for help eventually anyways. Plus it seems Cyclops need the help considering after his assault on Sinisters hideout left some people injured. Definitely gonna be cool to see Strong Guy and M do some fighting finally.

Another thing dawned on me, 2007 also brought about Bullseye getting the shit kicked out of him and leaving him paralyzed and out of commission for good by American Eagle during the New Thunderbolts series.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I THINK I JUST PISSED MYSELF LAUGHING!

omg

dreamwave never had an original idea in their head…every fucking book was ripped off an anime. its like the cloned joe mad and gave him sub par art skills.

It was a story beat since the beginning of Brubaker’s run.

No.

Messiah Complex is great.

True, Spidey books were garbage this year.

Blame Cho.

Secret Invasion looks awesome.

And 2007 is the year of Barracuda.

Good to know. Thanks.

Why wasn’t Wolverine’s series involved in Messiah Complex, or New Excalibur, or even Astonishing X-Men for that matter? I’m sorry but that argument doesn’t really hold. X-Factor could have made an appearance in the storyline without the comic having to be turned inside out for at least 3 months. It was just a way for Marvel to bleed more money out of consumers. If I still bought comics I’d probably be ticked off.

rofl at Quesada straight jacking the title and idea for One More Day from the book of the same name.

Well for one New Excalibur is busy teaming up with the new Exiles and dealing with some of their BS.
Astonishing Xmen? Umm dude you do know that all the member are in Messiah Complex right?

Basically my argument holds. You lose son :arazz:

Hey, man - Kitty Pryde hasn’t been in Messiah CompleX, I don’t think. I bet she dies at the end of Whedon’s run. That would be sad, but I can imagine Whedon cruelly snatching away his favorite character.

Well she was only in one panel during Messiah Complex and that was after the sentinel attack where she was caring for the injured. So she’s there but she really doesn’t have a role.
Kitty Pryde played her role somewhat leading up to Messiah complex with the whole Destiny Diaries.

the main World war Hulk was a great and fun read the tie ins were bleh (execpt for the x-men that was very good)

Messiah complex is also a great read

And secret invasion also looks good

Read more Fables?

I stopped reading Marvel Comics when Civil War ended. I thought a lot of other people would have done the same?

Same with DC and Infinite Crisis. Both companies are too busy trying to show how big their dicks are with these retarded crossovers instead of making entertaining innovative comics.

No wonder the industry is slowly dying.

The industry isn’t dying at all.
It’s actually thriving.

Next year will be even better.

Cool so it’ll just be bad instead of very bad. There’s something to look forward to.

I was more referring to the whole comic industry:

-New SF comics
-Amory Wars continued in a new mini.
-Dynamo 5 keeps going
-New Loners
-Witchblade and Darkness with steady creative teams.
-A vast majority of the indie publishers adopting the “Don’t solicit until it’s done” model.
-Brand New Day
-Secret Invasion
-The lead up to Blackest Night
-Terry Moore on Runaways
-Adrian Alphona on SMLMJ

Etc Etc.

If this past year was your definition of bad, then I hope this coming year is the worst.

QFT.

Honestly, if Image wasn’t around, my interest in comics these days would have been zilch. I got Bomb Queen, Invincible, and Dynamo 5 to look forward to, so i’m satisfied.

DC i’ve never been a fan of, but Marvel…well, they really need to step their game up.

No offense but you sound like some kind of fruity art critic. There’s still good traditional superhero comics out there it’s just that they’re harder to find especially on the Marvel side. The main problem is that they treat their main titles X-Men and Spider-Man way too much like cash cows and not enough like comic books.
