Carlos, the only person you’ve ever embarrassed is yourself. Just because you either won’t admit it or can’t understand it doesn’t change the opinion of the broader public. It’s especially sad with your weight issues and lack of female companionship throughout your life that you’d make that one of your talking points.
Why would that be?
Thor and Loki are two different species…
Me-OW!
Intellectually stimulating. My favorite part was the terrible.
Not nearly as amusing as anytime you post in the science thread though.
Couldn’t they just use another character in Norse mythology? What about Freyja? That’s like someone making Jesus a woman or Babe Ruth into Baby Ruth and not the candy bar.
This needed a thread? Seriously?
I liked the dirty jeans troll thread more than this stale cracker.
Anyways, read up on this. Just another shallow Marvel marketing gimmick to raise sales for a few months. One of Thor’s female fuck buddies becomes Thor, which in itself makes no sense because as far as I thought that was his actual name and not some title bestowed to him lol.
I rather some more Dan Slott She-hulk attorney driven comedy than this shit.
Whatever.
I’d rather read New 52 than anything from the last 5 or so years of Marvel.
Storytelling is tough with a female Thor.
If they tweak the character to acknowledge the fact that she’s a female, people will bitch that Thor has become a girly comic and Marvel needs to bring back man-Thor.
If they don’t tweak the character, and just roll on with a female Thor that is the same as Man-Thor personality-wise, people will bitch that the entire move to switch him into a female was pointless so why do it in the first place?
useless pandering.
Get that money $$$ Marvel. Funny that specs is making fun of misogynistic assholes and feeding of their “tears”, when Marvel is using a name brand to try and convince females to buy more comics. Marvel is worse than any misogynist tbh.
But not that it matters, I don’t pay for comics.
Nothing says genuine female empowerment like stealing it from a existing male character rather then achieving one’s own. This decision is also rather regressive considering the common complaint that female superheros always exist as extensions of established male characters. It’s also quite puzzling that they opted against pushing existing female characters or even using thor’s own daughter which actually exist in the real world norse myth. Lastly did they forget Thor is his actual birth name and not a tittle. This makes about as much sense as creating a female superman and calling her clark kent.
A female superwoman named Clark Kent would still be more interesting than actually reading a Superman comic.
I can imagine the first story arc’s major plot point
she has to juggle her superhero life with her love lyfe.
Where da moneyzz @ Marvel, thiz shit’z gona’ be twilight big. racking dem racks and stacking dem higher than i get high
This would also explode on tumblr with the amount of shipping between her and Bruce.
Why would she need to be on a ship with bruce when she can fly?
Anways, so they need to make an anime/movie on the best female character ever made.
Female Thor? Oh…
Susan Arendt actually put forward an interesting discussion regarding this exact topic.
The one role that females are universally accepted in is the villain, almost entirely courtesy of Maleficent, Ursula and other Disney characters and as such, many of the most memorable female characters are villains. There aren’t too many particularly good heroes who are females. Some of the few she listed off were Sigourney Weaver in Alien and Sen from Spirited Away.
May be showing my age, or lack thereof, but who might this be?
Hell. Fucking. Yes. I keep hitting the Agree button but it only seems to count once :bluu:
Like other people have said, Thor is his given name not a title.
It’s Marvel’s fault really because of the spell Odin put on Mjolnir.
"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
That should be “possess the power of Mjolnir”, not Thor.
Anyways, they shoulda just created an alternate reality where Odin has a daughter, not a son, and he names her Thor (it’s stupid, but makes more sense).
