Mike, stop doing this to people.
pretty sure he’s serious :bgrin:
Akuma/Doomah:
on block, c.LK+Doom, c.LK xx qcb+LK, land TK Fireball, falling HP, HK, Teleport
Hi everybody. I’m new on this thred and I made a combos video. It take me 6 month to made this so tell me what you think about it. That video show you how to use T Bonne ans Storm as strikers.
link didn’t work - searched for it on Dailymotion
I think you need to look at more combo vids - some of the stuff was dated.
And you missed a few set ups - eg Bison can do 2 pyscho crushers in the corner after launching
- Hayato can combo his raging demon move as an otg (after launch ,…, DP xx qcb + 2K)
And lastly combos with sent doing repeated HSF are really dated.
These codes are confirmed right… because me and a friend tried the usa codes and he was able to get the first code to work and not the second one… does input speed matter. the machine says Naomi on loading so WTF!!!.. either way i’m gonna try the japanese codes to be safe… but they ain’t working and we need to unlock sentinel and megaman because everyone is using just MSP at the local arcade…
Why do storm players lightning attack up, then sideways in a basic air combo? Seems like all the top players do that now, but no one will tell me why.
What’s wrong with lightning attack diagnolly twice like people used to do it?
If you tri-dash with storm, how do you get two air hits to come out? I see players mixing up j. short -> c. short and j. short -> j. roundhouse -> c. short, making people guess if they have to block two air hits or one.
HOw do you deal with spiral trap? I don’t understand how to push block out. The top players are just suddenly able to jump out of the trap. No matter how I push block and try to time the jump out, i just get stuck.
What are the motions for the standard sentinel unfly/refly combo when he’s flying?
I see flying short -> flying short -> flying short in rapid fire succession and then forward kick rocket punch…how the heck do you do that?
A standard refly combo looks nothing like it. I understand you need unfly ,but that’s it.
How do you do lightning attack hit confirms? I see people using lightning attack as a high priority counter, but i have no idea which way to lighting attack next. I’ve literally seen people lightning attack down then upward diagnolly the wrong way because they knew it would hit the cancel into lightning storm.
Where do you guys find out your info? For the longest time I would see MSP players pick storm first then switch in magneto, but when I asked no one would tell me why…they’d give me bullshit like, “Oh, I just pick storm first in case I change my mind and want to pick storm sentinel.”
You can float with Storm by holding Up, this lets you get that 2+ hit overhead.
Unfly is different than Refly. That combo with the flying linked shorts sounds like just a hella hard refly combo. Launch sj.LK, fly~unfly Lk, fly~unfly LK etc. Fly~unfly = flight motion x2. It basically just creates Unfly state manually.
With LA, you have to be aware of where you are relative to your opponent when you are about to cancel to LS. Even knowing this, you have to do the motion for LS opposite sometimes if you are in an ambiguous position-- its annoying.
They switched in Magneto to make use of the first attack glitch.
i tired the codes again a couple of days ago and nothing. someone care to tell me why the codes aren’t working. we need to unlock all the characters.
THIS. Thank god for beginners (heck even intermediate players) that MvC2 is coming out for online play… people keep way too many secrets for their own good. Luckily I’ll spill the beans:
Storm players do up then sideways because it allows more execution/reaction time than diagonal twice, and also the motion to connect to LS is easier than from diagonal. Usually LS spaces better and hits better for follow up DHCs.
As someone mentioned before, you have to hold up (briefly) for certain triangle jumps to connect twice, but it also depends on whether or not they are crouching or not.
When you try to push block and cancel out of it, try doing it 1/3 faster than you think you can… you can cancel out surprisingly early. Similarly, you can try messing with the screen or calling assists to eat one or two of the hits to let you jump out.
Sentinel does not need to rely on refly combos, you should master fast fly combos and unfly combos and then focus on refly strings.
What you’re seeing is fly short, unfly, fast fly, short, unfly, fast fly, short.
For lightning attack confirms usually just try forward LA.
I found out some stuff by watching other players (and then almost always) having other players lie to me and then going back home to think about why they were doing certain things and then finally figuring it out for myself. Other than that, I would innovate shit on my own.
usually, for the spiral trap, I push block around when that first sword is sent out (usually along with the HP in her trap string). by around the 3rd/4th sword (where they are close to the ground) you can then jump out.
against plain old spirals, you can just watch for that HP, but the better ones will try to watch for the pushblock and change the timing. so you need to watch too for that first sword.
Thanks, guys, that was a big help.
Someone mentioned to me that in an air combo with storm, lightning attack up and then sideways will hit both point and assist if you launch both. Upwards diagnolly will occasionally miss one or the other.
I just wanted to piggyback on some things, no homo:
The real reason why top players do lightning attack up then straight forward is for the damage potential; doing those two lightning attacks (up then straight forward) will give potentially give you the most amount of damage possible as opposed to doing straight forward then up or even two diagonal lightning attacks.
For multiple attacks in a single trijump with Storm, I suggest you trijump, then quickly hold up until you’re ready to end your trijump. You can get up to 4 hits in a singe trijump (or 5 hits on big characters like Sentinel and Blackheart).
As for the pushblock technique, we call that, “Advanced Guard Canceling.” You all should watch the FT8HZzejhpM#"]FIRST VIDEO way before you watch the .
These two videos will definitely help ANYBODY out and will help you improve your gameplay to extensive heights… as long as you’re halfway decent with replicating what you see into what you do.
In the first video, just look out for when the character pushblocks to try to get a feel for the timing of it. Then try it out yourself!
Also, FYI, if you have two characters in a Storm air combo, you should only do one lightning attack to lightning storm to get both of them; it doesn’t really matter which way you do it (I prefer straight forward), but just do one instead of two.
And if you actually get two characters in a combo and you catch them on the ground, you should really just do a double snapback and launch to death instead of worrying about getting an air combo off on both of them.
:china:
Does anyone know how to do that kick that Charlie has in the air. Its not his flash kick but it some kick that I need to know how to use. I just dont know what to do to bring it out.
Up, Up/forward, Forward, Kick
I think it’s actually just U, UF K
It’s very lenient though, you can roll it all the way to down-back, so like Tiger Knees, it really just the timing that’s important-- do whatever motion you can most consistently get the banana kick with.
For tk bananas i actually do a 360 motion that starts at fwd or down and ends at up-fwd.
Ifffff ps3/xbox Marvel is any good, it should be a great thing for people (like me) who’ve latched onto the game past its peak of interest in the community. For anyone else who was at Evo, what portion of that Marvel lag was due to the HDTVs and what part was just hiccups in the porting? I’ve never seen slow-down in training mode before :\
I’m pretty sure it was all hdtv lag
Alright cool, thanks!
quick Q: I saw the term “addf” in a combo. What does that mean?
I’m gonna be buying this sucker when it hits XBLA and playing and hopefully getting decent.
