Hey all, just posting up this casual event we got going on for May 2nd. This in no way was created to compete with the other tournaments. We had scheduled an event earlier but decided to bow out (due to a larger tournament priority), but due to request are holding this mini event for those of you that can’t make it to the other events or are local players to Markham or have already scheduled time off to come to ours. SCHEDULE:
12:00pm-6:00pm - Open Casuals
2:00pm - Mini Tourney (Single Elim)
4:00pm - Barrel Breaking Competition

FORMAT:
Super Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360 on two screens, 2 Hori Joysticks provided, bring you own if you have!)

Mini Tourney @ 2:00pm
Free Entry with payment of Venue Fee
Single Elimination Tournament
Players must choose one Character and use throughout the tourney
Each set will be 3 out of 5 games for a best of 3 set

Barrel Breaking @ 4:00pm
Free Entry with payment of Venue Fee
Barrel Break Bonus stage
Player with the highest score wins (Each player gets 2 tries, highest score will be recorded)
In the event of a tie the tied players compete again in the Car Break stage for high score

SITE FEE:
$5 Venue Fee (all venue fees are used to obtain better equipment!)

-Still working on having more joysticks avaliable, possily 3 more will be provided, will post when they are confirmed
-money back guarantee! if you show up and pay the venue fee, if after 1 hour of play you feel that this is not the enviroment for you (ie. too serious, too casual, whatever) you may request your venue fee back and be on your way

Sweet, any chance of anyone having PS3/PS2 to Xbox 360 converters? Might need to head to Pacificmall to find one or two for me and a friend…

if someone can bring in a copy of SSFIV on ps3 then i can have a ps3 set up you just gotta bring the game and your sticks, i still haven’t got my copy for ps3 yet

that’d be sweet, but no need to rush them as i’m sure you wanna get in some gaming too!

i hope some ppl can come out, looking forward to getting some practice in…i’m sure i’ll get smoked but you gotta learn somehow right?

looks like 2 of the 3 new joysticks are on schedule! so we should have sticks for both set ups, but if you got your own be sure to bring it just incase, the hori’s are really showing some wear

I’ll come by with a friend, if it helps, I can bring my copy of SSFIV on PS3 + some PS3 pads and a Madcatz SE stick with a modded Sanwa stick in it, unfortunately, I haven’t gotten buttons for it yet.

BUahahhaha… I finished the mod for the second TvC stick, Jon. I’m going to test them both tonight on PS3 SSF4. Unfortunately, I don’t have the X360 version, so I’ll have to settle for some shitty DoA (I don’t actually play the game) instead to make sure the sticks work.

Preliminary tests show that it works - nothing’s crossed, no short circuits here or there, etc… I didn’t even make any mistakes during the process. Everything went very smooth (save for the power outage wtf).

I think I spent about a total of 10 hours modding the sticks.

No prob man, I’ve grown accustom to the pad as sad as it sounds at the moment. By the way, my stick is pretty much a naked stick with no stick over it, it’ll feel cold at first but generally no difference in play :wink:

I need to stick to one character like Viper! I was the other asian guy without the glasses "padding’ it up. Great game guys! lol at broken Bison U2.

Who brought the two TvsC sticks? I gotta find the sticker material because it was so comfortable!! Maybe I should have used the $30 for buttons instead of the Revoltech Queen’s Blade Echidna that i bought there while I was looking at the imported stuff there.
Then again, I was looking for her for a while since she was one of the first characters released. I like my toys along with SF.

Added: My bad, hey Chowwun what type of material are the stickers on your TvC sticks? Absolutely love the feeling rather than the gloss material I had on it.

thanks to everyone that came out! had alot of fun dispite getting my ass kicked!! I only expected a handful of ppl but we had a pretty decent turn out, so thanks for coming out folks and hope you had some fun!

special thanks to everyone that brought sticks and were kind enough to let others use them…extra special thanks to Chowwun for getting the TvC sticks up and running they work like a dream! i’ve taken them home tonight to get some much needed practice in.

i totally forgot to give out the FREE darkstalkers #1 comics, so if any of you are by again remind me to give you one. my bad

the TvC sticks come with the sticker on it…not quite sure if anyone offers something similar but i do like the feel as well…anybody know if something similar can be produced? with either a stick or perhaps some kinda non-gloss textured spray?

I’ll check out the upcoming Heroes World event schedule and see where i can slot in some more casuals

the tvc sticks are all stock in terms of design. I only
changed the inside stuff and not the outside. The paper is like textured and matte instead of glossy on the sf se stick.

no probs on the stick mods. Just refer potential customers to me!! lol

I encourage these casuals especially for the beginners, it makes a better world like less rage kickers and 30 second 1 round ranked battles!

yeah, it’s nice to actually have the person kicking your ass there next to you and not being an ass…pretty much everybody was cool, telling ppl how to block whatever and such…it’s a great help

yeah man! you should send me a potential price list (of what mods you do) and we can broker some deals, i’ll take drop offs and such

damn you and your el fuerte!! haha jokes, good to play against cause nobody really uses him properly…gotta learn to block those mix-ups!

I’ve got over 100 games under my belt against Guy only…hahah…guess it doesn’t make for good practice to fight the same guy over and over…literally!
