For sure. I like these casuals a lot as well. Considering that it’s offline play (can’t get enough of it) and you can knock the other guy down and put on the shades (I was the guile) lol.
If anyone wants casuals online, feel free to add me on psn.
Jon, as for pricing, I’m not sure what’d I’d charge. Probably 50 for the mod like yours. And some value less for the other mods? Maybe the same… Of course they’re going to have to supply their own pcbs.
Pretty sweet! I might want to get my SE stick dual modded in the near future when I attend more casuals and when I get used to the stick instead of using the pad like many have recommended today when I used Viper. How she was my main in Vanilla on a pad is a mystery to me since I got my fight stick 4 months after I got the game and stopped using Cammy and Abel.
Even if I got the Fight Pad, it would seem too much trouble to change my controls for the triggers I believe but hey, if I got a stick, use it.
lol if you main viper and try to use her on pad, that’s going to be quite difficult. From what I hear, she’s quite a heavy execution character. While I’m not going to say it’s impossible, if you DO use her efficiently with pad, I am going to bow down to you and title you execution king! I guess with some dedication, anything is possible.
yeah, give it a shot…i used to be a pad player too, but so many options open up when you start using the stick…ie i never used focus attacks…usually never used med punch (cause i stuck it over on the left trigger), etc…it’ll take some getting used to…it’s actually almost like relearning everything but it’s worth it
just get a stick your happy with…so try out alot before you buy it (ie. come to casuals! haha)…i’m actually not a huge fan of the TE and like the smaller SE style sticks right now
coolasice do you throw these casual events monthly? Weekly? Id love to have a place where the markham comunity can just chill and play casuals instead of p mall hehe I can also bring some equipment if needed too
Actually I was pretty good with Viper on the pad, the only hard thing that I really couldn’t do was her FFF(Fierce, TK Feint, Fierce) and get a low trajectory burning kick with a Super Jump. Everything was fine, even the meterless FADC, a stick could vastly improve whatever I do inconsistently. I was about to look into the Hori Fighting Commander 3 instead of the Madcatz Fightpad.
I just got my collector’s edition, awesome and totally worth it but the Japanese version and English version are “different”…needs a new save file and another install and I have to work up for my titles and icons again. Good thing is that I still have my BP/PP but they don’t really do a difference during online play.
yeah, i’d love to do them at least monthly perhaps even biweekly…as long as ppl don’t mind paying (only like $3-5) just cause it’s hard to justify all the set-up and space without some compensation…all the money goes to getting better equipment anyway (mostly saving funds for a nicer LCD)…i’m currently checking the schedule to see what days we can have…so far most mondays and tuesdays are free…saturdays and sundays in May are all booked up right now
or we could have a heroes world thread…so i can post up when we’re doing random casuals and stuff…wonder who i have to talk to about that…??
sick, got any pics of the collectors edition?
on a side note we just got in our fully custom Arcadewhips.com joystick! it’s pretty sweet so next time any of you are in the area come by and check it out! also on demo is a copy of their larger joystick for those of you looking for a big guy!
the custom stick is fully tricked out! dual system compatibility, sanwa buttons and stick, custom art work everything! feels pretty good to play with too, smaller than a TE for sure…i’ll post up some pics when i get a sec
Man, one thing I love about custom sticks are that they are so slick and shiny!! I do like my SE stick but the TE stick is love! How’s the ArcadeWhips stick Jon? It seems that there’s plenty of variation of button placements like the SE/TE style, HRAP style and the Arcadewhips styles.
My buddy who used Ryu with a pad loved the casual and he’s asking me when’s the next one is.
arcadewhips stick is pretty nice so far, we’ve been using it today to goof around during breaks. buttons feel good, stick has a good length to it…we got new school layout…but you could choose to get the old school straight rows…i’ll try to post up a pic tonight
yeah, if next time i’ll try to have more ps3s running so it won’t be as hard for pad players to get in on the action…or i guess you can start practicing on joysticks
is anybody free next week monday? i can probably have two set-ups (one xbox, one ps3) for monday (May 10th) 2pm-8pm…probably only ask for $3 entry fee…post up if your interested and i’ll make sure it’s set up…i’ll be able to play during my breaks but it’s more ideal to have a few others here incase…don’t want just one guy showing up and having to wait to play scrubby me
May be available on Monday, gonna bust out some Cody then?
Stiff on money at the moment for a new sticker and buttons but curious about trying out the Arcadewhips stick, is it a default design you guys got for the stick?
sweet. so we have at least one person down for monday, anybody else? if a couple ppl post up i’ll make sure 2 set-ups are going…if not i’ll just have the one store screen going for kicks…also might want to post up what time you can come too. Yeah, i’ll bust out the cody, hopefully learn some new combos by then
yeah, we’ve got the default layout pattern…but the buttons are different than pictured on their website…the start, select and home button are actually above the buttons and not above the stick…i you wanna just check out the stick you can come by almost anytime as we have it on display…as well as one of the bigger sticks
