I did watch a fair bit of the tournament! Dat Arthur. I promise to try to attempt to make it to the next tournament, but in the meantime. How do you play Blazblue? I need to wrap my head around the common flow of the game.
The best way to understand BB (or any FG for that matter, in my opinion) is to just play it. Get a feel for what you can do, how you move, and how the general match flows. Or watch some match videos, they’ll give you a general idea of what is going on.
If you want more specifics than that:
- If you haven’t already, try going through Tutorial mode. If you’ve already played different fighting games (which I know you have), you can probably skip the basics, but BB has a lot of specific mechanics that you should know about eventually. - Pick a character that you like! Go into challenge/training mode and mess around with them a bit. Challenge mode combos aren’t particularly optimal, but they give you a pretty good idea of what your character can do, and how combo routes will generally work.
