Katie, from what I understand, LA doesn’t have the best track record with making it to the play offs, where as NJ does. Mind you, that’s a very scrubby explanation of the joke because I know nothing of Hockey. Other then “get it in the net.”

just wondering if you guys know of anyone tournaments in the maritimes, I play SFxT, Skullgirls, and Mortal Kombat. Just wanting to get a lil offline practice going 
Yo STB welcome to the area! Are you in Halifax or somewhere else? NB and PEI both have solid scenes but we’re mostly (not entirely) Haligonians in this thread. I’ll tell you straight: SFxT isn’t doing so well (although Dryph would be plenty happy to play you and there are still a few of our best sticking with it, most of the casual-to-mid-range play of it has died off) and MK hasn’t been played seriously since last September, but again, there are definitely a few scenes that would be happy to have a player. There were MK casuals/ranbats every second Saturday, but I think those were dropped due to lack of interest. SF4 and Marvel are the biggest scenes (naturally) and Tekken and Blazblue both do okay. Every Monday night at The Last Gamestore in Hfx there are SF4 ranbats (and casuals), every Tuesday night at Ralston Install is Marvel 3 (you’ll have to ask for more info about showing up since it’s in a private home). I’m sure some other people can fill in whatever I missed. Tournaments are pretty regular, there’s one coming up in Moncton this weekend and another in Charlottetown in August - the biggest one, Fight for Infinity, will probably happen again in September in Saint John (but maybe October depending on soon after C’town they want to run it). We usually try to fit in a one-day or one-and-a-half-day tournament between those; there’s some talk on Facebook now about tweaking our tourneys to suit the community.
Facebnook is probably your best bet honestly - check out the Fight For Infinity group, the Super Street Fighter 4 Ranked Battles of Halifax group, and there are scene groups for NFLD and PEI too, but the FFI group covers most of it.
tl;dr: everybody loves Skullgirls except for like the 3 dudes who are stuck on SFxT. Hahahaha

There’s a couple guys who play SFxT and Skullgirls, but I think you’ll find the MK front sadly lacking. I know there’s a couple guys that used to play it, but it sort of died off a few months ago. I’m sure they would still play with you, but there’s not much of a scene left.
