I’m rather surprised the way it turned out, I would’v thought “Viewiful Ryan” was gonna take it all, but I am rather happy I beat Adriano the week before :wgrin:
I also beat Adrian the week before at the gamezilla tournament. My Vega took out his Rufus 3 rounds to 0! I shoulda been champion of this tournament I tells ya.
Actually most of the NBers didn’t lose to any NSers at all (myself included). We all made it so far into the tourney that we started cannibalizing our own number. I got knocked out by Nelson and Raymond Hum. Damn those cousins. Although, at the Hotel afterwards I beat Nelson. Why couldn’t I have done that at the tourney!?
There were so many freakin’ Blankas at this thing and he is Vega’s worst match-up.

Probably not going to happen unless you organize it yourself. Us guys from Saint John were the ones who put the challenge out to NS, so I imagine next time they will be coming here.

I played you at Halifax though. Beat your Dhalsim with Bison, although I’m sure he’s not your main. I wonder how well I would have done if I had used Vega.
Yes, you came out as the victor in the gamezilla tourney, although you did counter pick in order to win. Sagat is Honda’s worst match-up, which I’m sure you knew. :xeye:
Cupcake (and others) were pretty disappointed that you resorted to that.
I’m rather disappointed in myself too to be honest… but going into the tournament I didn’t know who I was going to play, with a little bit more time I’ll be able to choose on who I’ll actually be picking… :sad:
Once I can actually find a stick I’ll probably have to settle down to one character :xeye:
Sticks are great. You should be able to get one made from the trading forum here on SRK.
I’ll have to try that… even playing with them a match or two at The Last Gamestore, it’s really helped my Rog 
Hey guys, I’m Ryan Paterson. I was playing Balrog at the tournament over the weekend.
It was definitely awesome to finally get out and play some other players from around here. Unfortunately, this was my first experience playing in a tournament, and I was nervous as hell. It seriously hurt my execution (don’t know how many times I missed the ultra set up).
Still, it was a great experience, and hopefully there will be more events like this that I will be able to attend.
That’s one thing that kind of annoyed me at the gamezilla tourney; my controller was giving me a bit of trouble. I thought it was good, but i guess not haha. PS3 controllers require lighter presses than PS2 ones I think (or maybe it was just old). That still wouldn’t have stopped me from losing to stupid stuff from cupcake’s honda.
Tell me more how the lastgamestore runs stuff whats the format?? I heard they have arcade cabinets? they run stuff on both arcade and console? I only have a 360 TE can I use that?
Do they have weeklys/ bi weeklys?..I know to many questions : ) I’ve never been in there stores before
This tournament between NB and NS was kind of a once or twice a year thing at most. This was the first time we did it and it was a pretty expensive trip for us NBers. That’s why NS is coming to us next time. Fair is fair.
So, being from NB I can’t really say how often they have tournaments there.
Yes, they do have some old arcade cabinets (Marvel vs Capcom 2, Spider Man and Avangers beat’em up arcade games). But we played SF IV on the 360 on a big projector in the back. There were probably 3 or 4 TE sticks there, plus several custom sticks.
Are you coming to NB in September for the rematch?
I don’t know about going to NB , like I said this is the first I’ve even heard of groups of players in Halifax/locally alone. You guys would prolly win vs me with ease since I have really no live comp and I don’t count CPU AI and training mode as good VS practice.
You should just come for the fun of it. Most of us didn’t go to NS expecting to win. We just wanted to connect with some fellow fans and have a fun community event.
Well, much like yourself, I hadn’t had any live comp before. I showed up at the Last Game Store tourni without knowing any of the other guys. I still had a great time, and playing in a setting like that is a great experience, especially for someone like you.
Even with a lack of practice against live comp, and being really nervous, I still managed to do pretty well, so you shouldn’t let that deter you.
We’ll see
