nothing bullshit about it. freedom of speech protects you specifically from the government encroaching on your speech. and freedom of speech is a two way road. groups petitioning/boycotting a sponsor or employer with associations to someone who say/did something offensive to them is protected speech too.
furthermore, no one is compelled to work somewhere with a morality clause.
BBQ logic: Quote an old Simpsons episode, get fired. I’ll keep that in mind if I ever see any of you guys say even a single line from the Monorail episode.
Hey the dudes were standing by waiting for that to happen and started defending it. Regardless of who it’s said to it’s ‘‘her’’, not ‘‘him’’. That’s like expecting a cripple to not get mad if someone walked in and said ‘‘Fuck the cripples’’. Do I even need to elaborate further on how this makes it annoying for women?
Lastly, it’s not funny at all, really. And I don’t mean that in a white knight kind of way I mean it in a i’m not a 12 year old that’s just discovered swearing kind of way. Plus it’s been well over a damn year. Not even Harlem shake lasted that long and was way more original and in taste than this brodude crap.
So its perfectly fine for people who may or may not be mentally retarded/batshit insane to silence and harass you but its only an issue when the government does it? Am I really the only one who thinks this is fucking dumb? Sure let them whine but they should not be allowed to fuck you out of a way to provide for you and yours.
What I do/say in my private life is NONE of my employers fucking business. When I punch out and go home I should be free to do as I wish so long as I am not breaking any laws.
Lol when i punch out. If you’re just an hour jockey, nobody cars about you. The moment your job has any kind aspect that involves dealing with the public as a representative of the company, you need to have a good image.
This is the same reason why Adria Richards had to “resign” from her job after the dongle debacle. You can only embarass a company so much.
Lots of punch clock jobs have you dealing with the public. I’m the bottom rung at my job, it;s punch clock, and i still deal with and represent my company to the public…
Unless you mean once you’re off the clock, then yea true enough.
Yeah if you work at Walmart or McDonalds…then yea those jobs dont care.
But if you work for a real company with moral standard you can bet that you have a code of conduct to live by even when youre off the clock.
I work for the state, I have a few friends that work for the government. They monitor your social media profiles, and even if they didnt, other people would just to spite you.
None the less, just dont be an idiot. Spread good vibes and do a good job. Thats not too much to ask of an employee, they want to be proud of having you on the roster.
