i dont think she did.
tsurugi is a good thing against chunli, because it beats EX sbk AND backdash if done late.
And safe if chun FA -> backdash.
And it delays landing, so opponent often techthrow (same way as cammy/viper).

clever clever!
back in vanilla there were a couple characters that had a brutal time AAing right above their head, like abel. with rog you could bully him like crazy with neutral jump hp into tick throw shenanigans.
if you do it late enough to hit backdash and ex.sbk can chun forward dash out?

I dont know but mega risky for her. She cannot rella punish you because she breaks her charge.
But if she focus on wakeup, you can take big damage

any tut videos?
All I saw in these videos was straight victimization of that Claw. I’d be less tempted to FA air jumps like you are, empty jump grabs or late hits will not get you the great results you were getting. Nice cross ups. Just a reminder that sHK beats some of Vega’s post roll options. Way to not IA Tsurugi btw and eat a U2 wakeup.
But yeah. The other guy = a victim.

My matches on stream at Summer Jam, it’s only the team tourney match that I played against Justin’s team.

good vids NinjaCW.
i’m sure you could give more troubles to J.Wong with crMK techthrow OS.
good job anyway!
I’m working on a advanced mak tut right now. Compiling a lot of info. It’ll be done in a couple of weeks…

Nice vid Ninja Cw, I liked how you played against Abel, good use of normals against him in the first round.
Nice vids Lost Fragment, very entertaining fights against Dhalsim, you landed a bunch of Karakusa’s on him, and I liked the s.mp > s.mp > HC > karakusa
I’ve been practicing that for awhile but I haven’t used it in a match, it worked really well for you against that sim.
I only now noticed 2:35 of this one. Awesome, something besides focus crumple that lets you launch with f+hk.
Did some messing around with this and you can only follow up after it trades. And only with lp hayate. Maybe someone more skilled in the art of lab-fu can find some other stuff. Works both in and out of the corner, though.
Completely useless, but interesting.
Grats NinjaCW on a good performance. Do you not like to poke Vega out with sHK? Or do you find it’s not a good response to that mad stab stab poking?
And I saw the jump away HP OS, but do you find that cMK OS isn’t good?
All of the OS against Rufus are very dependent on the angle of the dive kick. If he goes to high then I get dive kicked but if he goes for fast ones it will work (either that or I’m bad at doing it) I’m a big fan of blocking when fighting against Rufus and forcing him to throw me a million times to kill me because I find that if I do anything else I will be dominated. As you saw against Justin went for a lot of techs which allowed him to do whatever he wanted.
Against Vega I don’t like to put out moves that he can counter poke easily. Though s.FK beats a lot of stuff if I mess up, I’m going up and if he wants to lame me out it’s pretty hard to catch him if he’s smart about it. I didn’t want to find out the hard way rofl.
here are some matches I just put up. Be warned I’m still pretty green with her though.

Any advice would be very very welcome.
I’ve only recently started trying to include the HC mind tricks and meaties. I’m also trying to shake hesitation (because of the mashers) in dashing in for karakusas. Also I’m working on some of her bnb links.
you’re lucky that Chun Li didn’t know a whole lot, go study the meaty setups v-ryu made (pretty sure it was him)
does Tsurugi, Hayate(EX) do more damage than Tsurugi(EX) after Abare??
after a Hayate(HP/MP) throw out a fMP or cLP Hayate(LP) combo, you can some times catch guys spamming & CH them
personally i don’t bother trying meaty’s with DP types, they can DP out of almost anything, works great on Balrog though. you’re going to have to learn this shit out by yourself which characters you can crossup/meaty/karakusa often
combos, i’m still working on that shit, & i’ve been playing her for like a month or two now…i can usually do them fine in training but in a real match i get too worked up & start mashing, you have a mashing problem too
Ultra-2 is quite shitty, i think you should drop it…maybe use it for Dhalsim & fireball spamming Chun’s
i’ve never done this myself but i see guys using the double Karakusa tricks to great effect, me personally, when i fight a makoto i always spam something during a karakusa, catch em with Ultra all the time since the timing is pretty strict. i do this cause i was caught a few times trying to do sHP Hayate(HP) the Hayate needs to be canceled pretty fast if it’s a HP one, i always do MP one now. have caught a few guys in their Ultras also, they try to do the straight up 2HCF motion, i buffer Ultra during the whole animation
just some random tips, i only watched the first video so far, get to the rest in a bit
yeah you’re right, up until recently i used to use her jabs only to keep people at bay. I just learned about c.lp>s.lp>mp>hayate. I actually tried and missed it in one of the vids. For the most part I have dropped u2 since it’s more defensive. I’m trying to work on aggression (let the hate flow through you.) so i’ve changed u1. I’ll use U2 depending on the character and player i’m up against. A vast majority of clowns still thing she’s free chip at full screen with hadoukens. Smashing them had become my favorite thing.
Oh i just read your last sentence. The last vid has me using the U1 instead.
