My first USF4 video:
I just saw this video on the front page, knew about most the stuff already except for who all the character specific combos worked on, Thanks a ton Vryu!
http://www.twitch.tv/vryu123 is currently streaming a good set vs Gagapa, an impressive Bison player.
aka the best Bison in Europe
i hope he uploads, I couldn’t view it…
His streams are automatically archived now, you can acces them in the “past broadcasts” tab of his profile. The latest:
A FT20 against Gagapa starts at 50:00, great resource material for Dictator matchup.
it’s like watching his strategy videos being put to the test in a match…
Bigdanmul stream archive:
1hour+ of Yun matchup.
yun is so annoying to play against
damn this character. lol
There’s some scrappy stuff in there, but funny
Raw super activation dash dash dash karakusa U1 is a new one to me.
The question I guess, is Yun a 4-6 or almost a 3-7 ?
He got better in Ultra but somehow I feel like we do weirdly better against him in Ultra than we did in AE 2012, even if it’s still a bad MU.
Mainly because we have actual midscreen damage now so we can kill him a lot faster than before.
Makoto’s active frames work against her in that matchup I find
Exactly.
I guess you mean against delayed dive kick? I totally agree
Sometimes I use jump up LK tsurugi (and LK~MK target combo). Its quite effective, except when he does forward jump HP
Yeah that’s what I mean. I use LK~MK target combo too. His j. HP is just as good as Makoto’s. It’s crazy. He’s so mobile it’s really hard to make him fear Karakusa. You end up just trying to counter his movement and block his mixup. You’re forced to play his game not yours
I think Yun’s health is what stops the matchup from being 3-7. It’s 4-6 in his favor IMHO.

This Bison took me for about 30 games. Here’s one of the rare victories.
One thing I would say is that there were times in the video where you focused with no purpose. I think you were getting focus happy, which a lot of Makoto’s do. When you focus it’s almost like jumping–you only have two options. For focus you can either let the focus go or dash. If you’re focusing from far away and then dashing, a focus becomes telegraphing a dash and you ate damage because of that. You did something I do to force someone to attempt reversals in unnecessary positions: HP > Feint > LK (blocked) > Karakusa. Once they see that they typically mash reversal. If they start looking for the grab they are susceptible to high/low mixup and they aren’t establishing a counter to your offense. It’s such a rough situation for them to be in. Good job.
Vryu vs Luffy FT5
That was brutal to watch.
No idea how Makoto can catch up to Rose well, she’s so slippery.
