You were doing fine. Just try to punish the DP harder. Her recovery on it is very long, you can dash and grab her almost everytime.
Also, her non EX DP isn’t throw invincible ( well she has a throw invincible one but then it’s not strike invincible, they almost never do it ) so you can abuse that when they don’t have meter. Non EX Scramble isn’t throw invincible either.
Interesting. Any tips for her scramble shite? Do we literally just have to guess the mix up every time, or are there any indications of what she’s gonna do?
Yay more footage from Evo! Misse tearing it up in a FT5.
I’ma whine bout makoto representation now…cause it hurts.
[details=Spoiler]Waiting for Ultra on PC, I was really looking forward to seeing what ultra mak can do. I mean, I’m too stubborn to download the PC mod and I haven’t had a chance to try the game out yet, so I gotta get my fix somehow.
I figured I’d at least see some cool stuff at Evo, maybe not new tech, but at least some of the resets and setups talked about in the ex fukiage section. And if not in the tourney then probably in the after hours salty suite or something. But…where da Maks at? Since I didn’t watch pools, it almost gave me the impression that Misse was the only Mak there while Haitani played mostly Rufus. I think I’ve seen 2 matches on-stream from Evo, one of which was Haitani vs Dieminion, the other was Misse vs that Hakan. The above video is the only other footage I’ve seen of Mak from Evo…although I’m sure there were quite a few there. Where’s my shaky cam footage of money matches with Daigo?
Haitani’s match with Dieminion…well, it looked like Haitani was either rusty from all the time he’s spent playing Rufus or he was just playing impatiently, though I’m positive a HUGE part of it is just how solid Dieminion is at denying Mak a way in.
The amount of Mak’s I’ve seen switch characters is surprising as well. Tinshi was in the brackets for the last NLBC. Sweet, finally some tourney footage of ultra Mak…let’s go Tinshi! He showed up on stream once and picked Blanka
Melo and Vryu are both trying out Poison and Decapre respectively. Misse and tetsu are about the only pro level Makotos I’ve seen uploaded since console release.
Ah well, I’m sure all this is unfounded. Mak is a great character from what I’ve seen and heard. I’ve yet to see a tier listing that ranks her below top 15 and in most she’s top 10 or top 5 (knock on wood). I’ll still play her (though I might look into a secondary just for Yun and T. Hawk), especially since there’s so many posts talking about how fun she is. And seeing Misse do well with her is refreshing too.[/details]
Well, apparently crouch teching with MK is really good against Guile, I’m stealing that too.
Someone really need to tell Misse about stLK stMK target combo against Hakan tho. He was forcing himself to backdash and whiff punish focus with EX Hayate, which is good but you give up being close for that.
And about the rant, I couldn’t agree more, but sadly it seems Misse, meu and Tetsumakoto is all we are getting. And Misse and meu only play in arcades so far.
Master Bloothy is playing a lot too, susprised we haven’t gotten any replays of him on youtube so far.
I’m a bit sad most Japanese Makoto seems to do EX Fuki into HK Axekick too, never seen one try a jHP mix up yet.
But what can we do… We’ll have to develop this version of her ourselves, without being able to watch and follow Haitani or Vryu this time.
In the middle of this video there’s a first to 3 set of Misse vs. Air. After Ryu gets pounded, Air has a salty runback with Hugo.
Thanks a bunch Shocky! Starts at 2:26 btw. Oh mang, Misse looks so happy when he plays. And he’s playing so solid. Love that low/high mix up shenanigans he did after the HK tsurugi knockdown.
I’m so bad at coming up with tech, I’ve never been much of a lab monster. I consider my execution above average, but other than that I’m kinda meh. I have been working on my fundamentals a lot though. Been working especially hard on whiff punishing lately. Whiff punishing dash punches from rog and st. HP from dudley with st. HP x ex hayate is so satisfying. Or any low forward with cr. lk x ex hayate.
Also started using safe jump OS lp fukiage against an ex burnkick happy viper. It hit him out of ex seismo once, I think he super jump canceled it or something, cause I thought for a second I beat ex seismo with fukiage, which I’m pretty sure is impossible. The one thing I’m going to try really hard on when I get my hands on ultra though is trying to find solid punishes. Rewiring my stick to plink with back/select might be the way to go. My jab is kinda worn out atm though, I gotta replace it, sometimes it gets stuck and I get cr. lk x stand there and charge hayate…great fun!
I would imagine raw ex fukiage can be used to punish stuff you wouldn’t normally think of…I was actually wondering how it reacted to whiff punishing lariats from Gief…would it trade or get beat completely? I imagine I’ll be spending a lot more time than usual in the lab, if only to get FFS x ex fuki down. Looking forward to messing around with anti-backdash/jump away tech with ex fukiage OSes too. It might be possible to do a ground ex fukiage OS to beat the longer backdashes.
EX Fukiage is not a good option against whiffed lariat since it can trade. If PPP and Zangief is moving backwards, you can get a full jump in combo. Otherwise you’re better off waiting for recovery frames and tagging him with s.MK xx whatever, c.HK, or EX Hayate.
EX Fukiage can punish Rufus Jesus Kick FADC backdash and lots of uppercut FADC backdashes, but it’s reversal timing and too slow to hit toward dash.
I’ve read this a few times now, and I’m still out of the loop. Can someone fill me in or point me to where this is explained?
Just prevents him to abuse focus attack, that’s all.

Good set
I still don’t like EX Fuki > HK axekick > Oroshi
It looks way to obvious
A bit crazy how much he’s just willing to jump in on Ryu.
Most of his strategy was alternating between jHP, jump kara axekick, and short jump LK axekick.
well axe kick is good against ryu, particularly hk tsurigi on wake up. air kept uppercutting like crazy so he started alternating between lk and whatever to bait the dp then air switched it up to cr mk fireball. I agree though, he jumped in way too much…
yeah, I don’t like the constant use of hk tsurigi after ex fuki! I mean you give up pressure, corner push, stun and damage if you have the meter.
overall though, misse is a great makoto player and I think he was just having a lot of fun in those sets, hence the play style.
Vryu playing a bit of Makoto against a Sagat here
He played Decapre at the beginning, but archives will be worth checking out.
Lots of really good and practical EX Fuki jHP mixups.
I’m not seeing any archives.
Yeah he didn’t archive it
Gotta ask him I guess
Arf fawk :(. I forgot that we have to set it up now. Its not automatic.
Ill do it.
Vryu do you have a twitter so i know when you start streaming?

He usually twits before starting.
And his last stream has been archived:
Yes i didnt forget to do it this time
Near time 1h24, about 4hours against alioune. Lol. (About 2hours of Makoto vs Juri, then multiple character vs multiple character (those hugo vs gief was too funny xD))
