Unfortunately even competent decapres are random for the most part, they’re still figuring out how to play her and do completely unsafe dps all day. Don’t worry her day is coming.
Anyone have some good videos against Bison? I’m trying to figure out how to play against them. I’m kind of stuck. I don’t feel like I can anti-air them very well and it’s hard to dictate the spacing for footsies. The only thing I got right now is getting into that sweet spot where he can’t st.hk as anti-air to get in. I can’t really walk them to corners and let them hang themselves.
Post scissor kicks (the relatively safe variety), what are our options? I was going with st.hk but he didn’t bite. I was getting annoyed with him just walking back. Anything to catch that?
I know it’s a little sad too but I also got spammed out by full screen psycho crushers. Not my brightest moment.
edit: I did a quick search of the latest uploads to youtube. Mostly everyone who’s beat stevemadden504 put up their videos.
I only remember one AE video that I really liked of a japanese Makoto defeating a Bison repeatedly. He was spot on. I’ve tried to find it already, but I can’t. Wish I could since I also have a lot of problems with Bison. Hopefully someone else remembers the video. There was about an hour of good footage in it.
You can stop scissor kicks from mid-range with cr.mp/st.mp, stay right out from our st.hk range. When Dicta close you in the corner you can stop reckless scissors with cr.lk into whatever; since AE,LK Scissor Kicks have a little pushback and that help us to counter those mindless attacks, especially if he tries to spam cr.lk before the scissors. If Bison tries to do scissors without cr.lk before…just st.mp that shit.
Anti airing Bison is more easy than it seems. His jump is floaty, you have time for dash under that or do LP fukiage. You can beat j.hp and empty jumps on our wakeup with ex karakusa, just wait 'til is very low. If you are without meter, just,fa+backdash.
Meaty j.mk beats ex PC on wakeup, dash and backdash make ex stomp whiff,if Bison do Devil Reverse we can:
-ex Hayate if he try to escape;
-FA or straight U1 if he that stupid to try to hit us with that psycho fist.
Full screen psycho crushers loses to st.mp,f.mp,st.hk clean. Spamming st.mp when full screen is enough to make him think twice about that.
Last advice: Bison need meter to be really scary, just keep offense when he’s meterless. St.hp xx LP Hayate +st.hk beats Bison’s cr.lk’s if he use those to stop our offense.
Here our Sensei face the best european Bison. Isn’t Ultra, but the match isn’t changed that much.
Gagapa is really good, too bad he’s a bit unknown outside of Europe, he doesn’t go to many tournaments and is a pretty reserved guy himself, but there’s no contest he’s the best Bison here and probably like top5 player overall in Europe.
Man, really liked that dictator match. Wish you’d post a loss vs him so I can offer some advice, it’s tough to critique a winning match since…well…you must have done enough stuff right in it to win! Bout dat cammy match though…and I’m assuming this is a pretty old video, but hey.
That early blocked drill should have been punished harder. I get that you wanted to go for the back throw setup, but you got DPed for it anyways, so try to rely less on setups and go for more guaranteed damage, especially against Cammy, cause it can be hard to get another opportunity for damage in this MU.
You need to poke more too. You hardly ever used cr. mp/st. mp or cr. lk in this match. Mak’s normals are really good. In place of normals you used focus attacks, which was fine in the beginning since your opponent was using a lot of st. HK, but he switched to using cr. mk buffered drills pretty quick to blow up your focus attacks and your approach didn’t change. If you start seeing your opponent do something like buffered normals, which are direct counters to focus, you should be thinking about relying less on focus attacks and using other tools to get in.
For example, if you had started buffering ex hayates into cr. lk and caught one of his cr. mks, he would think twice about his ground game. Which he relied upon fairly heavily, this is one of the more grounded cammy players I have seen.
And lastly, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, but get your DP punishes down. Solid mak though man, I’m sure you had some tourney jitters. I know I would. Looking forward to seeing more of your matches.
Aye, looking back now I was playing pretty stupid against him. At the time I don’t think my poke/footsie skills were up to scratch and I went out 0-2 (Fuzzy, Problem X) after qualifying from round robin.
I’ll upload some more matches of me getting handled as soon as the service starts working again. Thanks for the feedback!
Got a fight against Decapre here. I don’t know what to do in this match. Most of it was guess work. Her DP is nuts. Hits just about everything. I’d upload some losses but the youtube service is never available after I’ve done one. Laaame. Anyway. Any thoughts on punishes and stuff would be lovely.
