I’m no pro, but one of the best tips I have received seems like it would help you out as well. You would get a massive life lead, and then Seth would get away, and you’d do everything in your power to get back in there to finish it off, often eating a fair amount of damage. It works for most of the cast but especially for Seth and Dhalsim: If you get the lifelead and then they get away, make them come to you. Getting in on Makoto without eating at least a few pokes is going to be difficult. Yeah I know that Makoto is rushdown, but if you’re sitting on a huge life lead and Seth full screen, play the waiting game.
Edit: No Ultra 2 vs. Seth? I think that’s crazy talk. From what I saw, you only landed Ultra 1 in places you could have landed Ultra 2 (full focus crumples), and Ultra 2 makes full screen anything (fierce punch, fireballs, focus, and on and on) a risky decision. It’s not the best for every matchup but I would certainly use it vs. Seth.
yea not only should you apply that to Seth and Sim, but most of the charge characters as well (especially Honda…)

You probably could have won the round with a U1 at 1:04. Probably didn’t need to attempt that cross up that got you cornered and hurt in round two, and ya whiffed the f+LK after the EX-Hayate. Finally, you didn’t follow up on your Fukiage hit at the end of round 2. Those are the only complaints, otherwise you straight dominated him in a pretty solid fashion. Nice set of mixes and approach, and you baited a few DPs to pacify him of spamming it. I like your style.

EDIT: Good stuff v-ryu, I have to agree though, people need to learn how to OS against backdashes. I for one tend to face a lot of players who constantly backdash and I end up missing my karakusa or end up being punished.

i don’t think that has anything to do with it. rather it’s because you hit the hayate with reversal timing coming out of blockstun which broke the armor.
