Okayyyyy so did the testing on 3x MP and FFSS on the new characters:
FFSS (From Karakusa): Hugo
FFSS: Rolento, Elena, Poison.
3x MP (From Karakusa): Elena, Hugo, Rolento
3x MP: Elena, Hugo, Rolento.
FFS does NOT work on Elena, after a Karakusa. You’re better off using 3x MP instead as that works.
Sorry if we already knew all this! If I’m incorrect let me know. I THINK I got 3x MP to work on Poison, in the corner, but couldn’t recreate it.
so I wiff backthrow like all the time now, ultra 2 without startup invincibility SUCKS!
haven’t been punished after mk tsurigi yet, and I gotta get use to that ex fuki, I keep getting ex hayate when I try or I miss the follow up lol.
I’m having trouble using cr mk to aa consistently, could be the lag…idk cross up mk is nice!

Seems too easy know get a stunned opponent. We can choose how early use j.hp after ex fuki and from that depends where we land. If our opponent guess bad is DEAD. Know I see why all those nerfs. Better don’t save full bar of meter, get a Super instead of EX Fukiage seems too easy. I’m still struggling with cr.lk,f.lpxxEX Fuki, but whatever, doesn’t seems too important atm. Have fun guys!
@Noocta j.mk is really good, not exceptional but good. Seems whiff against some crouching characters, but maybe was my fault. Better than before for sure, useful after ex fuki,j.hp guessing time.
You could try to kara backthrow, just plink stLK while holding back with throw. I’ve been doing that forever because it’s basically free range.
Also, pretty funny we get the Viper problem of having super come out instead of DP motion punch.
However fleeting it may be, I can claim that I am the number one ranked Makoto on XBL. I can die a happy man knowing that I was able to claim the top spot at least once.
I just tested this out in training. Seems after ex fukiage to hk tsurugi, you can go for a meaty mp oroshi on their quick rise. Has enough hit stun from the meaty to land ultra 1.
edit: Guess it depends how high you actually hit the tsurugi. It’s actually a little high. Too high and the oroshi whiffs. Too low and it’s too late.
Off of a pure mp oroshi, you can hit f.lp xx ex fukiage regardless of meaty as well.
Crossup jump mk doesn’t seem to work on Elena in the corner either. Dashed her all the way into the corner and on quick rise shenanigans, it didn’t seem to work. You can land it on midscreen situations though.
I think it’s more Elena having a funky hitbox than jMK behind bad tho
it may be placebo effect for me as well but I feel like I’m hitting more links online than before…?
when I get a bad connection it’s really bad with the pauses though, lol
they changed the netcode
I’m hitting more links like jabs into Hayate and such, but having a ton of trouble with getting things off Karakusa. Also having trouble getting Fuki to come out sometimes.

Makoto died years ago, if you want to win don’t play Makoto. tired of losing to scrub Ken and scrub Ryu?? then move on to any other character…literally!! no other character will require as much work for so little pay-off as Makoto does. this is why Makoto has no player base, we all got fucking tired of losing matches to inferior opponents who we could have beat effortlessly with any other character. i was kinda hoping Capcom would rectify the horrible neutering of the fierce lion but instead they decided to go ahead and chop the whole thing off. Makoto’s game was horribly weak and it just got weaker with the addition of the new game mechanics.
Makoto is dead and buried.
I ain’t even mad. It’s just a matter of adjusting. I’ll get I ironed out.
