Actually no, not all grapplers. Gief for example would probably be better off just picking Ultra 2 and using other throws on the ground. Characters like Juri and Elena. Elena still recovers a butt load of health with double Ultra. Makes sense non-attacking Ultras don’t get hurt by damage nerf.
Combo from red focus using 4 ex will do lot of reduce damage. Tanden > red focus
And for ex fuki > fuki, if its the same as AE2012, it will depend if EX fuki hits a crouching or standing opponent.
(Try to do fa2 > fuki*2 against standing/crouching rufus. You will see the difference)

I really wish the next build was keeping EX-Fuki jump cancellable on block.
That would honestly be a bit braindead IMO. You could just throw out a move that leads to ridiculous damage AND it’s more or less safe? Nah, that’s not right. It was one of the big gripes with Sakura and she had hers nerfed a bit if I recall.
Yea, but lets face it, that would’ve been too good.
I agree with you about ex fuki jump cancelable on block is braindead, but then what about all the shoryu’s fadc in the game?
I need to know if ex Fukiage have some properties outside ground hitting, something like airborne frames.
can’t test it right now but I’m curious to know what the difference is???
Something that I like that has not been mentioned is the 200 stun on cr.hk the anti air, adding to an already heavy assortment of high stun options for makoto.
I rarely use crHK outside of grapplers match up. Might use it more because of it but it really seems minor.
Maybe now we can use it just to dizzy our opponent when is close to the stun, but I can’t imagine where put that outside a jump in. Alone is too slow at startup.
And if you want to do a jump in > attack for a stun, stHK still does more stun ( 250 ) anyway.
But heh, it’s free stuff, can’t complain. One day I’ll get a stun after a crHK anti air and I’ll remember that discussion.
Might be good for catching panicky jump away attempts when they’re on borderline stun. shrug
It works quite good after neutral / forward throw now.
I think it would be interesting if they changed the super properties:
- Remove the damage bonus but leave the cancel
- Have the super add enough frames of hitstun/blockstun to enable us to deal more damage/mixup.
All we need is the potential for more damage instead of a boring flat percentage increase.
p.s. Just off the top of my head. I’m sure we could come up with something more interesting collectively
It’d be nice if super did more, like in addition to damage boost it could grand chip damage and stun bonus to all of her moves / normals.
What you suggest is rethinking the super. It would be so awesome if it gave few additional frames of hit/blockstun - new combos, frametraps and setups are always welcome in my book.
CH s.hp U2 possible in Tanden Renki? Yes pls
shoryu fadc would still be fair in comparison to ex fuki jump cancellable on block. shoryu fadc is two bars and more unsafe while ex fuki is only one bar and still safer. honestly I think they are trying to turn her more into a pseudo shoto in USF4 instead of improving the tools that actually need to be improved (tanden renki, HP being 1000, possible changes to karakusa, and oroshi).
overall, I don’t like the direction that they have taken with her. I know this is sf4 but I think they are moving too much away from what I liked about her in 3rd strike. I mean karakusa is what she is known for and yet they insist on making it as useless as possible for us! people actually had a reason to jump away from makoto in 3rd strike…
also, as difficult as it was to win with SA3 in 3rd strike, when that shit was activated opponents did one of two things, grow some balls and attack or run like a little bi$ch! super in sf4 is a joke by comparism if you ask me.
Hrm, I’m sure they changed at least two of those things. If you go back a page or two you’ll see that Combofiend confirmed ex oroshi getting throw invincibility. As for karakusa, recovery was increased, kind of moot since you’re going to get punished anyways if you whiff choke.
