Now, when you say “delayed Axe Kicks,” do you mean doing a late Axe Kick on a jump-in, or do you mean plinking a punch with the Axe Kick to make Makoto do that short “hover” before the Axe Kick come out?
Also with Rose if she is abusing cr.mp into spiral alot just do st.HK on reaction after the cr.mp. Beats all of her spiral attempts (including EX I believe, though would need to test to be certain). Plus its fairly safe on block so if you tag rose with it and she blocks at least you are resetting the situation
In Ultra, s.HK loses to EX Soul Spiral more often than not due to the increased invincibility. EX drill would get stuffed by it all the time in 2012, but not anymore.
Against Viper, try to stay extremely mobile so she’s scared of using Seismo.
Focus dashing against her is really good, it forces her to use Medium TK a lot to catch you and it slows the pace of the match from the burnkick fest.
In the end it’s a momentum match. You need to make her try to escape you, instead of trying to escape her.
I’m a bit at a loss against Yang, anyone has any tips on that match ups ?

Everytime he finisdh a rekka sequence, I get counterhit if I try to fight his next crMK.
His frametrap game is also really intense, more so than Yun.
I really feel outplayed in this MU and I usually only wins because his damage is bad and ours is really high.
with zangief/seth you can ex fuki, empty forward jump, dash. if they quick rise you stay on the same side(safe btw). normal wake up has you dash over the bodies(safe with time to spare).
Backthrow forward jump with a button, then dash
But you end up very far from deejay as he wakes up, I haven’t found anything beside crMP that can connect.
I’ve been recently struggling with a friend of mine who plays E. Honda. I really feel like I’m stuck when it comes to this matchup. Does anyone have any tips or things I should look for in this matchup?

Btw, ive changed my mindset vs yun. I have lot more better results when rushing him down instead of turtling. The risk/reward is sooooo much in Makoto’s favour
Getting the rushdown started is kind of scary and difficult. I played a dozen of games against a good Yun and things didn’t go well once he got a knockdown.
I think my main issue is dealing with Jab xx Hands pressure. There doesn’t seem like anything I can do about it. I try to be patient and block, but I end up eating a ton of chip. Also I have a hard time dealing with Honda’s pokes. The range on them makes it tough for me to do anything. I’m not sure of my options in those situations.
You need to practice against a dummy that is spamming a normal that is giving you trouble and then find what tools you have to beat it. cr. MP beats even Bison RH at the right range.
