Makoto AE 2012: the nerfage

V-Ryu I can’t see Fei’s matchup getting any better with how they nerfed him maybe a smidge but nothing noticeable. As for Yun and Yang she’ll def be on better footing with them though I imagine it will still be in their favor simply due to the nature of their style of gameplay, but it will be A LOT better. But the issue is, everyone she was equal to went up so now she has more bad match ups.

I was talking about after a stun. With damage scaling after a few hits, charged HP Hayate combos start doing a lot more than 15 damage more. It’s arguable what combo you would want to do after a stun (setup, reset, max meter, max damage) but this is max damage per meter once you get deep enough in the scaling.

Part of the buff page was:

“Can tell when you reach Lv5 charge timing by Makoto’s voice”

Might mean level 4 time = new level 5.

You guys are great in looking for a bright side to the Charge time. Outside of a stun it doesnt sound very good at this time.

from what i hear s.mp xx HK chicken wing no longer works. that by itself is enough to breathe a sigh of relief. she’ll still get dominated in the neutral game but at least you won’t lose the round as soon as he hits you.

He reiterated about the previous report saying lv4’s charged hayate is like ex hayate, but that charging to lv3 takes a long time, so the usefulness is really just to make your opponent scared.

Mentioned about the health change and the fukiage damage change are the ones most noticeable. The match goes on a bit slower because of those changes, that it feels like you have an extra misread during the match.

btw I like the idea of charging up your hayate and “storing” it. Given its long charge time it would open up a whole new meta game if you could charge up a hayate over the course of several hayate cancels. Start a hayate get it up to level 3 cancel it, later on start up a hayate and its already at level 3 and you can continue charging it until level 5 then cancel and save it till you are ready to combo with it. I honestly don’t think it would be OP to do that and leave hayate exactly as is, because if you want to charge up a hayate you can’t be using it in combos because that would use up whatever charge you’ve stored so far.

Makes me think that level 4-5 hayates should have guard break like level 3 focus attacks. That MIGHT make it useful.

Yeah these changes are probably gonna stick. People said the same thing for the original AE loketests and barely anything changed.

Wasn’t the Chun-Li ultra problem (where they fall out) found during location tests? Yet they never changed it before releasing AE.

Nothing about nerfing the hitbox or the startup, so it should still work on everyone.

Unless Capcom ninja nerfed that too, which is possible.

IMO capcom didnt nerf what made Mak so strong in AE, her U1 still prorates like it does in AE, we still got fukiage hitbox, dash recovery, i could go on…

the only nerf that i slightly dislike is the hp nerf…she’s a man after all…at least manlier than the rest of the girls. and DAT st.HK, Im gonna hit so many crouch techers with that (fck bison too)

Honestly, I don’t care about any of the changes. All I really want is for them to fix ultra 2 and to completely remove the height restriction on ex tsurugi. Make it useful for gods sake. Also j.MK hitbox fix.
