Makoto AE 2012: the nerfage

Yeah a couple of things got translated really bad… one of the lines say Ken’s cl st mp starts up in 20 frames now… lol.

Anyone else insulted by the fact that they obviously didn’t listen to ANY feedback from Makoto players? There were ZERO changes from alpha - final. They literally used none of the data gathered or player opinions, they made their initial pre-location test changes and said “nailed it.”

I mean, I find that pisses me off quite a bit, whereas the actual changes themselves aren’t too bad.

I skimmed over Makotos changes and assumed it said Special, come to this thread to see people saying Super canceled…and now feeling at ease again after reading Leons post.
We all forgetting the S.HK buff as well I see. At least we dodged the final bullet.

Also, Eternal, I don’t know why they made no other changes, maybe they mostly just saw complaints about Hayate buffs being useless and the Makotos being happy that she didn’t get slammed with the nerf hammer. Would have loved a better cross up MK and maybe full fireball invuln on Ultra 2 though.

Haha, alright, I guess that’s good to know. Again this doesn’t change much, but I suppose it might make some hitconfirms easier. Sorry for spreading the salt if this is actually true…

Looking forward to using s.hk as a footsies tool more.

Actually I just had an idea for this charged thing…but probably only works for me since I’m the only scrub that uses fuki x 2 and then ex hayate (instead of ex tsurgi) maybe I can charge the hayate while they fall instead of using ex one. And save the meter for the new godlike super : )
No really…

Hmm if that works in 2012 it should work in AE. But I don’t think you can combo I to a non EX special after 2 fukis now. Sounds hot though lol I like it.

Oh and you’re not the only one who uses that

yeah I thought about that- the fact that i may not be able to juggle with the regular hayate, which brings me to another point of anguish. It seems to me that most of the other characters can juggle sooooooo many more moves then makoto can. sucks

I’m gonna start charging my level 5 Hayate now in preparation for the 2012 update. Hopefully by the time it’s finished the 2012 update would have dropped and I would have hit someone with it. Wish me luck.

“Here I come”

LMAO!

Hello.
I was thinking about the ex-Karakusa range “nerf”. I mean the atack has armor properties wich means it is supposed to be used to absove one atack then grab the enemy. This means that if the enemy is atacking, wont the enemy hurtbox/grabbox (I came up with the grabbox term tbh) be close to us, or not?

Exactly, that nerf isn’t so bad for us, you’ll still be able to grab your opponent if he tries to hit you. (It will still whiff if the distance is too long tho, but the best advice here is not to try ex karakusa unless you’re fully bodied, that way it won’t whiff :p)

The range of non-2012 EX Karakusa wasn’t ridiculous to begin with. The design team probably just wants to push us to perfect kara-karakusa and frame trap karakusa with these ridiculous ranges. That’s the only reason I can come up with for shortening it.

Not at all, capcom gives zero fucks about walking dollar requests.

I am suprised at the comparably reasonable reaction on this thread compared to the sky if falling on the Yun/Fei threads.
Or the hilarity of the Vega thread.

I still can’t do the forward+lk kara karakusa :stuck_out_tongue:
My execution is too terrible.

I can do that weird lk whiff karakusa and blockakusa.
The former never actually works for me though.

I would have to see your motion but i advise actively holding back after doing the kara kara motion and not just inputting it as quick as you can, just make sure you end holding back.

Are you doing the complete motion (f, fd, d, db, d) or the shortcut (f, db, d) with that holding back?

Edit: I only ask because I just do f, db without the back…

I do the full motion, short cutting it fucks up for me when i am going to fast.

Is anyone able to translate this from shiro?

It seems very interesting but google translate can’t help

This could be wrong, considering I only had 2 semesters of Japanese study (and that was like 2 years ago with little practice from then to now), but I think he’s saying something like :

The changes to Makoto were not as bad as expected.
The target combo to hayate was pretty strong. (Note, I think he means strong as in ‘good overall’, not really strong as in just its physical strength.)
Charging the hayate just a little bit makes it feel like an EX Hayate.

Then he talks about the opponent’s wakeup after a forward dash from a backthrow. But that part really confuses me so I’ll leave it alone.
