Damn I didn’t see this question or I’d have answered by now. Assuming you are still curious to do the fly loop after the lightning attack string you have to use an assist that will allow Storm to launch them while being held by the assist to allow you time to connect f:h:

Not true. Depends on how you set it up. You can throw assist while buffering the move for one, then you have the left/right cross under, high/low, left/right crossup, or throw options that come natural from it. The key is to use it sparingly.

It’s not really useful when you have an opponent who is as good or better than you.

That’s why I said not true. If you use it too much then yes it’s obsolete. If you use it enough and actually try different options off of it each time then it’s a nice little mixup. Layer it up with your assist, any really, then go for something out the box with it

but they can be useful if you have good assist characters like Sentinel

Or Doom, it just depends on your setup. I don’t always use foul wind resets but when I do I use Dos Missiles.

I use task/storm/ammy and foul wind is awesome with ammy assist. it lets me finish a combo without spending meter and still be able to get a high/low on them that they cant roll out of.

so im trying to incorporate Tk Lightening spheres in my game plan… are there any use for them… or does anybody believe they can raise storm’s damage… also… is there any combo with lightning attacks and Lightning spheres in it?

2nd thing… is it possible to jump cancel into lighting sphere with or without an assist?

Finally, what is the best way to play Storm? I think her keepaway potential is great, i also believe her rushdown is okay. I think storm has some of the better match ups against the Top tiers… with amazing durability on her projectiles, and excellent movement speed.

wow, these forums are dead. people really hate storm that much? in any case, despite what people think of her, she is still top 5 best second-position characters in the game imo. at this point, i’m fairly convinced that she’s primarily built for xf1/2, much like how certain characters are specifically built for xf3. once she xfs, you can lose the entire game in the next 10 seconds. that makes her pretty unique afaic.

I don’t think people hate Storm, I think that the perception is that she doesn’t bring enough to the table and is relatively high maintenance.

I love Storm, but I always have to build a team FOR her because she’s not one of those characters that you can just let rock when she’s not equipped to use meter efficiently or deal damage effectively.

She does bring good stuff, but I’ve found that unless you really don’t care at all, if you decide to put Storm on your team then you have to make the team something that can specifically capitalize off of Storm’s strengths.

I will agree with you on XF usage; I suck at using XF on almost any level, but I have found great success abusing Storm in XF2.

Storm’s main problem in UMVC3 will always be - why use Storm when you can use …
I personally love the character, but she takes alot of work, her low health, low meter gain, and being constantly compared to Magneto doesnt help.
I will say this- when questioned about using her on twitter -the top players that play Storm(Fanatiq-JWONG) say that they wont drop her no matter what.
So it seems that people who play Storm do so strictly out of love for the character and loyalty.
I just hope we (storm community) can advance her game, find new tech and make her viable.
I truly dont think that she has reached her potential yet.
I have done some really nasty and tricky things w/ Lighting sphere. The properties on the contact explosions is great for zoning and assist control imo.
