I think guile vs honda is even. Guile’s zoning is a bitch, but once honda gets in, he’s in. Guile’s only reliable way to get him out gets him raped if he guesses wrong.
I also agree with ultradavid that honda gief is even. It’s just a really boring match.

I like Seth vs. C.Viper all day. I think that’s one of the most fun matches in the game to fight. Mainly because C.Viper can actually go after him. Against most any other character…yeah you’re in for a zone fest.
Yep C.Viper is one character that is hard to zone out. Other than her sick mobility, her ranged attack has no traveling time.
I don’t really mind Seth vs Fuerte since Fuerte can grab Seth out of his walljumps any day any time, but it’s still so annoying fighting him.

Hmm, I know its his own list, but I don’t really agree with honda, even abel, and blanka. Blanka can be a real trouble, and I doubt he is worse then some of the characters listed above. Or maybe he is?
The thing is, he forgot a few characters lol. Where is sakura, seth, gouken, gen, etc etc etc.
Im guessing this is arcade list? If so, its kinda useless for none-arcaders since half is missing, but its still good to know

Your tier argument…we can argue tiers until the end of time. You just have to like your character and believe in them overall. There are statistical reasons as to why Blanka is where he is and Honda is where he is and so on. It just adds up on paper at this point due to tournament results and listing down what they have to offer. Everyone has their own tier list though in the end and tier lists are generally just stuff added up from tourney play.
I wonder what the character rep stats were for Evo and how it compares with these tier lists…
I love how he says he has nothing to say about Blanka. He just throws him in where ever probably based on his easily punished specials, unconfirmable super, and low damage output. I think Blanka is a really mis-understood character who is hard to play upper level, but i still think hes strong. Mizoteru told me himself he thinks Blanka is strong, maybe his opinion has changed though. Can’t wait to see blankas in SBO.

Or maybe it just freakin means he don’t have much to say about Blanka cuz he ain’t all dat. :lol: He’s definitely a threat and a very unique character to the game but he ain’t even close to being close to challenging Sagat for top tier.
Personally I don’t think Blanka is a character that works by tiering him. Why whould you? He’s so dependent on how his opponent plays and the way the person using him is playing him that tiering him just based on his tools alone (which only work if the opponent falls for them) is not really good to go on. He doesn’t have a super solid gameplan that he can just force upon you like Sagat and Sagat Lite. The only thing you can really say about him that’s concrete is that he isn’t winning tournaments all over the place. Other than that he is a very viable character once you put him together and have your mix ups and spacing at a level that is hard for a human player to react to. His defense is pretty decent for a character that is pretty quick and pixie like but on the other hand doesn’t do a ton of damage unless he catches you with that shenanigan Ultra either.
Overall though Blanka is way too player to player dependent IMO to really rate him. People trying to fit him inbetween B and D tier on a tier list are just going to be battling till SF5. The only thing that’s for certain is that he isn’t A or S and he isn’t failing classes at Tokyo University.
i think japan tier lists are more based on everyday casuals rather than tourney results.
Even then…I know all the Blankas in Japan aren’t tearing up left and right on the arcades Sun-Sat either. Unless you can change Sagat or Ryu’s name to Blanka in the arcades. “His name says Blanka tho…I don’t care if he’s wearing an eyepatch or a headband…his name’s BLANKA!” They’re not going even with Sagat and winning a majority of their matches against the other most used characters. He’s working hard for those wins.

Although mike ross himself said that Honda is actually pretty bad bad. He noted that some matchups were like 10 to 0 (Balrog) Idk if it was as a joke, cause it was put in a humorous sense, although he did explain why.
He also kept saying on gooteck.com /forums ask mike, that hes not very good because of his zoning problems [honda] [not sure if it was zoning]? And other things. So seeing mago put him so high is kinda a shock after reading all the stuff the pro honda player said, but yes true, everyone prob has a different list in mind.
