Just outta curiositiy how do most of you start a match with magneto? Of course there is the all to common, cr. short, but my homey taliban does normal jump call psylocke dash over to snap back. I’ve seen a few people start with launchers and I’ve done it a few times myself. I’m sure vs. diferent charachters you guys do different starters so uhh discuss.
Well i like using normal jump RH+Psy i find that works if they block the RH then i AD over them and try to cross them up so psy hits then OTG blah,blah,blah. Tri jump lk, land lk,lk+psy also works. Sometimes when im lazy i just block and time the psy assist since they will go for the first hit. Thats wat i use anyways…

I just regular jump backwards and pause for my opponent to call out his assist then I call out mine and jump back with magneto distruptor to dely time for my assist to escape :tup:
Straight jump up, psy, dash over for the cross is my preferred opener, seems pretty safe overall, and it’s pretty damn hard to block.

go w/ the regular crlk,lk, w/ psy…master the timing so if you two are really fast, its a draw… you’re safe… if he’s slow, he’s dead… but on sent, diff. things happen… i usually go w/ standing lp then cr hk…if it hits, tri jump hk, sweep the rom or whatever…
If I’m using the glitch, I c.lk + assist, lk. If I know they like to tri jump or simply jump straight up, I s.lp + assist them. If I don’t want to risk it, I jump up and call my assist and block down back.
On Sent I generally do a s.lp + assist [generally storm-a] s.fp. If the fp hits, I throw a disruptor out, which combos. Thanks Ekin. =]

While we are on the subject of sent would it be worth it if sent does a s.lk then c.rh to beat mag’s standing jab then c.rh? Sent would right? Cause the s.lp doesnt stun him but sent’s s.lk will stun mag correct?

does a normal jump beat a mag c.lk? That’s how my usual mag opps start out.
Yeah… Jumping Magneto should beat c.lk.
good. Cuz whenever I play a magz with magz, it’s always a ‘first to do c.lk’ contest…it’s annoying, but I usually win anyway.
if you both glitched the c.lk will trade every time cuz they come out at exactly the same time. And jumping over the cr.lk is only possibly if you jump straight up, not up forward.

I’ll take your word for it then, so is it jumping backwards that you’ll still get hit? I always thought jumping straight up came out faster.
the reason is that when you jump upback the first frame is block, but since its upback its a stand block… so you will get hit low. this is the reason why you can sj cancel straight into block and stay on the ground - because the first frame of jump/superjump upback is a ground block
and this is why upforward/up are faster =]
